Hello all. Brand New to the forums, relatively new to Armada, but getting the hang of things.
One question I was hoping to get answered that I didn't find while scrolling through topic threads: Do upgrade cards that come with different ship expansion packs apply to ONLY that ship, or can they be used for any ship in that faction?
For instance, if a Star destroyer comes with tractor beam upgrades, can those cards be given to other ships as well our just the star destroyer?

Hey SithLrd88, welcome to the forums! In response to your question, the only upgrade cards that are tied to a certain ship are the title cards. Otherwise, you can put any upgrade on any ship that has the ability to take that upgrade.
For example, Tractor Beams comes with the ISD, but can be put on any ship that has the offensive retrofit upgrade slot.
In addition officers and admirals can be put on ships from different packs but must keep to the same faction.
So the back of the card and bottom left have the symbol slot that the card can go to.
So Tractor Beams are an Offensive Retrofit slot. So ANY ship that has that symbol in the bottom row of the ship card can take it. Here let me show you.
So the bottom row right here next to the poitns cost of the ship has the icons avaliable for what upgrades they can have. They can only have as many of those types of upgrades as there are symbols. So the Assault Frigate MKII B can have 1 Officer, 1 Weapons Team, 1 Offensiver Retrofit, 1 Defensiver Retrofit, and 1 Turbo Laser upgrade. As well as a Title card and maybe your commander if you want.
As you see in the bottom left hand corner, there is the symbol for what upgrade slot that takes up. This one is the Offensive Retrofit.
As you see here, the Imperial Star Destroyer I has two Offensive retrofit slots, so it can have two cards with that upgrade symbol.
As you can see here, there are no symbols on the bottom left. There are however the Faction symbols on the right side. These are Commanders. You can only have 1 in a fleet and EACH fleet has to have a commander.
Here we have the Officer symbol in the bottom left and the faction symbol in the bottom right.
Remember when I brought up Titles? Well here are two that correspond with the ships I showed earlier. Look on the bottom left and see how the silhouette matches the same silhouette on the ship card? That is how you can tell which ship it goes to. This so far is the only example of an upgrade card belonging to just that ship.
Build your list in a fleet builder and you cant go wrong. It will do everything Lyraeus just explained for you.
Just one real quick heads up, the Imperial Star Destroyer that he showed you with two offensive retrofit slots, the only restriction there is that you cannot equip two of the same upgrade to that slot. So you have two offensive retrofit upgrades, but you cannot equip two Tractor Beams, even though they'd both be offensive retrofit.
One additional restriction, ships can only have one Modification upgrade.
