D2e Companion Card Viewer

By any2cards, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

The D2e Companion Card Viewer is a fan-made Google-Chrome extension created by Any2cards. It is not designed or supported by FFG .

If hero sheets do not "popup", most likely someone spelled the hero names incorrectly. The D2e Companion Card Viewer depends on correct spelling to work.

@Sadgit has it correct.

In order for any card to be underlined and displayed, it must be spelled correctly, as I have entered it into the data files.

I have made mistakes in the past when it comes to how some things were spelled, and because of that, they did not show up correctly. I have edited all of those and corrected them.

While I am not aware of any that don't work, I am not infallible. I will be happy to make corrections to any that are not working.

One more thing I would like to point out ...

All of the cards work basically by using their "key" name ... as in the full name of the hero , the title name of a card, etc.

It is possible to add additional "nicknames" for cards, if they are used more frequently. For example, suppose you have a hero called " High Mage Quellen ". Currently, you have to type all of that in to make it show up underlined, and thus viewable by the extension.

It is possible to create a entry called "Quellen" for that hero , to allow a nickname of sorts.

Having said that, this game comes with many, many cards. I don't want to get caught up in creating thousands of nicknames for things, as maintaining it all would be a royal pain in the *&^.

But , if there are some key ones that "everyone" uses, I would be happy to create entries for them.

Love this extension, especially good when looking for the changed CK monsters and heroes.

Also support rumors? like Cursed Treasures

Yes. It supports every physical card that exists in all expansions.

It's incredibly useful, I've converted to using Chrome for my Descent stuff ?

Is there any chance you could add the D2E wiki to the list of supported sites? http://descent2e.wikia.com/wiki/Descent:_Journeys_in_the_Dark_(Second_Edition)_Wiki

A new version (1.10.0) of the D2e Card Viewer has been posted. It now works on the Descent Second Edition wiki page shown above.

Awesome, thanks a lot mate :)

Just to mention it. The wiki on http://wiki.descent-community.org/Main_Page is much better than the wikia that you linked above. No ads, better layout, all the content. I think that this should be the standard wiki Descent players should refer to. Thanks again for this awesome resource Psymia!

Thanks Sadgit, that wiki is indeed better - I will use that from now on :)

That being said, any chance @any2cards could make the Companion Card Viewer extension also work on there? :D

Also potentially update the Index of Useful Links to reference Psymia's wiki instead of / as well as the d2e wikia one?

Credited Psymia for the wiki :)

Just to clarify: I am not involved in the creation of this wiki. It's all Psymia's work.

Well it is essentially a fork of the wikia wiki to my own server with less overhead.
It still isn't finished yet (missing Overlord-Cards, Monsters and Lieutenants mostly).

I kind of got side-tracked by the fact that i had to look after a baby for the past year ^^"
But with him getting older i find more time again to work on this :)

Sorry, got my wires crossed a bit there... Thanks for the wiki Psymia, and much-belated congratulations on the baby :)

Godfather Quote: "Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in !!!"

Thanks to @Xyphistor , I have corrected several misspellings within the Index of Useful Links under the Community Campaigns & Quests section.

Thanks to @Xyphistor , I have edited the D2e Community Wiki link within the Index of Useful Links under the Wikipedia section.

Thanks to @Xyphistor , I have made the D2e Card Viewer work with the D2e Community Wiki page (Psymia's version).

Hmmm ... I am starting to see a trend here. I think I am going to have to make an offer to @Xyphistor that he can't refuse ... ?

Now I am going to pass work onto @Psymia , as these issues have tilted me forever. On your wiki page, under the monster's category, you list Dispossessed . The D2e Card Viewer does not work on this because the actual monster name is The Dispossessed . Please fix me. In addition, under the Lieutenants section, Ardus Ix'Erebus is using some character other than the normal "apostrophe" (between the "Ix" and the "E"), so the D2e Card Viewer does not work. Please fix me. ?

Note: Psymia, I should point out that the above two issues also exist on the original Wiki page. I assume you probably did some form of fork, import, transfer, etc., so those issues just followed.

EDIT: Forgot to mention that you will need to update the D2e Card Viewer to version 1.11.0 to see it work with the D2e Community Wiki page.

Yeah the wrong character in Ardus Ix'Erebus was annoying me for a while as well.
I just run a site-wide string-replace "Ardus Ix’Erebus" -> "Ardus Ix'Erebus"
I hope this is the last i hear from this...

Regarding Dispossessed. I think both exist right now.
I will take a look to clean this up. I guess it's more an issue of inconsistency that some places are still use "Dispossessed" instead of "The Dispossessed".

(This is the part about the wiki is not done regarding Monsters/Lieutenants)
