FCS and the new FAQ

By EasyE, in X-Wing

Am i correct in thinking that the target lock aquired after making an attack with a primary weapon or secondary weapon that does not state "make this attack twice" can still be used in the "modify dice" step to reroll attack dice for the triggering attack?

Incorrect. Any effects that say "after attacking", like FCS, trigger after the modify dice step. Thus you can not use it to modify the dice of the triggering attack.

You dont gain the tl til after the attack, so you cant spend it oncthat attack

In fact, with the newest FAQ, you don't Gaston ANY target locks until BOTH Deal Damage steps have passed and both attacks have resolved if it says perform this attack twice.

If you could use it on the initial attack, it would say "Immediately after rolling attack dice," like in Colonel Vessery's ability.

...Gaston?

Thanks for the clarification.

Wasn't sure if I was reading something wrong or what.

FCS hasn't changed for single shot weapons.

For double shots, you only get it once you have completed both shots. Next time round you'd get to spend the target lock for either (but not both) shot, and reaquire the TL at the end of both rounds of shooting.

Is there a thread where we can nominate a "post of the day/week/year?"

At least that slightly nerfs ig88B.

Nope. IG-88B and other "gunner" attacks still work as they used to, FCS triggers in between separate attack phases. Here's a handy way to remember.

Do I skip the declare target phase? (The attack HAS to be against the same target, like TLT and cluster missles): all after attacking effects are resolved only after the second attack.

Do I get to go through the declare target phase again? (Attack in theory could be against a different target, like gunner and B): after attacking abilities are resolved after both first and second attack.

If there are counter examples someone let me know, this way of thinking is helpful to me if it works.

It's because he's roughly the size of a barge.

Which does, in turn, make Redline proportionately much nastier, as he's the only one who can now 'salvo' locked cluster missiles.

It's much the same as R3-A2 - because he triggers on 'when you declare an attack', he doesn't get to trigger twice for two shots of Cluster Missiles or Twin Laser Turret . He does get to trigger twice for the two separate attacks from Gunner or BTL-A4 Y-wing .

It's because he's roughly the size of a barge.

X-wing the musical. You know it has to happen.

The Phantom Of The Opera Is There (or there, or there, or there.....bloody Echo!)....

That makes him Chewie human version, right?
