MS-1 Ion Cannons

I was looking at this card and was thinking it was an ok upgrade.... then it hit me ... This card is perfect for stopping ET from firing. Now I understand why this card will be great on the Interdictor

Who or what is "ET"? I am not familiar with that acronym.

Engine Techs.

The upgrade that allows the Demolisher to launch itself from out of range, into point blank range, to do its damage virtually uninteruppted.

Yes, but the problem is that it still starts out of range...and MS-1's won't change that.

I was deliberately not bringing that part up :)

Well...now I feel silly. :P

Also Intel officer, ECM, Wulf, and e few more

The friend I play with will only run the Republic ships. I am looking more at using it to stop the two big boys he has from using ET. I do understand what you are saying

One thing they will probably have to FAQ on this is can you exhaust an upgrade card that you wouldn't normally exhaust through use?

As far as I can tell nothing on the card limits the type of upgrade you have to exhaust!

But exhausting another card, for example XI7, wont stop them working.

It is only the few upgrades that say "Exhaust this card to do..." that are effected by MS1s.

Unless the card targeted is exhaust to use, and then you exhaust it, thus your opponent cannot do so to generate its effect, until the next round when it has been readied, it has no effect on any other card type, as they do not have to be exhausted to generate their effect.

The card itself is such a nice idea but in practice, to use, blue range, and have to activate before your target ... um yeah ... getting real use of out it will be tough. Evening against a flotilla, unless paired with an accuracy taking out slicer tools ain't happening.

Until Sato arrives on the scene!

Toss it on a Raider-II. Add Screed for flavor.

Devastator ISD front arc.

Blue dice at long range if you have lost tokens.

I imagine if you had screed you could guarantee a proc and exhaust ECM.

Screed makes IMO every crit card viable in one way or another. I like 2-3 overload raiders and Avenger with SW-7's and XX-9's for slugging matches (deathmatches with friends)

Um no. Devastator is close-medium only for the blue dice bonus.

And even then, without the Crit, I should probably be spending ECMs to Keep my Brace, because its a FREAKING ISD FRONT ARC SHOT, GODDAMN IT.

Um yes. You are thinking of Dominator, the VSD title. Devastator allows the bonus at long range, but only for one of the front arc shots

After a couple of games of flying my 2 MC30/4 GR75/7 X-wing/Jan/Dodonna list against Interdictors, I can see outfitting a sacrificial CR90B with these to try and shut down some of those nasty, nasty exhausts on Interdictor. The title, G8, and Targeting Scramblers all come to mind, depending on the scenario.

MS1 on an ISDI with Devastator isn't worth using ECM'S on. That could be an effective place for MS1'S. Although it would probably be more useful to hit the target ship with a Raider or an Interdictor and then follow up with Devastator with a close range shot.

My new favourite combo is an Interdictor with projection experts and targeting scrambler supporting an ISDI with Devastator for a close range slug-fest!

I'm looking forward to trying this with OLP on the Interdictor and Avenger on an ISD 1 with Screed at the helm. Fly them as a unit, toss XX-9 on the Avenger to maximize damage per shot, as it should only be shooting at targets who have been pulsed.
