Battle of Endor

By Ardaedhel, in Star Wars: Armada

So, a couple of our local guys are putting together a Battle of Endor event next weekend. They've built out a rule set incorporating Armada (the space battle), X-wing (the fight over Executor and Inside the Death Star), and IA (taking down the shield generator), and are playtesting this weekend.

That looks very cool! Hope you've dedicated a long weekend to it, those rounds are going to be an hour long easy.

TELL ME MORE! I have a group of people who want to do this as well!

I'll make sure there's an AAR afterward, with rules and lessons learned. I'm just playing Armada because I haven't played either of the others, so I don't have a lot of insight into the non-Armada pieces. :)

All day Saturday. And activations will be in waves, with multiple commanders on one side activating ships simultaneously, then the other side activating in a Wave, etc, which should accelerate gameplay substantially.

Same here. I just want the information on the rules, what fixes were made and why so that when I bring this up to the people we can do this event with wave 4 and such with no issues.

We are planning to use Wave 3/4, proxying with Shape ways models. Also, Mel's fantastic Executor. So, I'll let you know how it goes. :)

at the risk of being a pedantic little ****, you want "the battle over endor"

the battle of endor is this nonsense:

Nope, I meant The Battle Of Endor .

Not only because the space combat was part of the same battle, but because:

and IA (taking down the shield generator)

But you don't have a liberty to be the first Death Star casualty? You noobs are wayyy too casual for me.

Actually we will have two liberty's one with liberty title, which will automatically be the first casualty when the death star fires at the end of turn three, and the Endeavour.

Also the battlefield will be expanded by 4 3'x9' matts that will be on each side of the main portion. This will allow flanking and rear assaults.

But you don't have a liberty to be the first Death Star casualty? You noobs are wayyy too casual for me.

Have no fear, it will be there! The picture above was a playtest with limited space, ships, and ruleset. The actual event will be next weekend!

Speaking of which, we're still looking for more players if anybody's around San Antonio/Austin/Houston/Dallas next weekend and want to get some sweeeet Armada action in (or if you're a filthy X-wing or IA casual). Join Alamo City Fleet Command on Facebook or PM me or Brikhause on here for details. :)

Not enough star destroyers :D But it DOES look cool indeed!

Needs more Star Destroyer and less random support ships :P

Looking forward to the write up and photos of the epic battles. Hope to see some of the X-Wing stuff too.

You know what that setup really needs? A custom-made SSD! We must see the Executor blowing up!!!!!! \o/

He did say there would be a Mel's Miniatures SSD there.

It looks like there is already one in the back of the picture..

So are you a Texas guy? They are doing this in Houston or College Station right? I am moving to CS this week and am looking forward to being a part of the community there.

this is being done in san antonio. Trust me there will be plenty of star destroyers. What you see on the table is about 2 of the 6 fleets in the battle. What i heard of one imp fleet was 7 isd. 6vsd 4 glad and 4 raiders i think. Again that is just one of the imp fleets. Most of the san antonio group is pooling their resources to try and get enough ships for this shindig. And we wont even go there with the amount of squadrons involved. I think it is 2000pts of imps vs 1500 reb's. In squadrons alone

San Antonio, actually. We've got a pretty good relationship with the CS guys though, look forward to seeing you around!

It looks like a trap to me!

Sorry! Couldn't resist it! Though I'm surprised nobody beat me to it!

The stage is set.
