If you have no hull but you do have shields what happens?

Say you are equipped with reinforced deflectors and you loose your final 3 hull points, you get to recover a shield before your removed.

Or IG88a remains in play after loosing all his hull due to the simultaneous attack rule then destroys a ship and recover a shield.

In these instances where you have ships with 0 hull remaining but 1 shield token are they still removed from play and counted as destroyed?

I think that you would still be removed from play. Same as what happens if a shielded ship loses its hull to attacks from someone like Wampa that bypasses shields.

Yep, you're dead when you have no hull. Just like if all your internal organs get liquified but your armour is intact.

You die, no save. Like falling into lava.

Well, atleast your wreckage will be protected.

You done blewed up.

Boooooooooooom. Space debris.

You're gone.

I got a full health Echo through her shields with a Proton Bomb that did a direct hit at a store championship. Oh, it's real son.

Basically the ship just falls apart and the befuddled pilot is left floating in a shield bubble with chunks of ship orbiting him until rescued or the bubble bursts (whichever comes first). :P

In seriousness, the ship is destroyed as the others have said. A shield doesn't do much good without any hull underneath.

It's also why Advanced Homing Missiles are a thing.

Alright, lets say Wes Janson is killed by Omega Leader, and gets a return shot. But Wes's friend Cracken also has a shot, and Wes is carrying the hull-regen droid.

Cracken takes the first shot, gives Wes an action immediately, which he spends on the droid, which successfully restores a hull.

Wes now has damage cards less than his hull value. Is he still destroyed after he fires via simultaneous fire rule?

Brain... Hurt....

shields have no impact on whether youre are alive or not.

All it does is buy you time.

Wes is destroyed. He was destroyed as soon as he had cards equal to his hull. He just isn't removed from play until he has his opportunity to attack.

Came to this thread for the last starfighter; was not disappointed.

Now we need a ship that can do the death blossom.

This is my understanding too.
