Most effective contracted scout post errata ?

By Mr Trep, in X-Wing Squad Lists

I have 35pts left in my list. wanted to fill it a pretty standard contracted scout with deadeye, proton torps, r4 aggro, GC and Boba crew.

What's the best way to go now that the new FAQ changes the way R4aggromech triggers ? K4 security droid ? overclocked ?

My suggestion:

Contracted scout (35)

-dengar

-overclocked r4

-guidance chips

-plasma torps

-extra munitions

-dead eye

Since you have a 35 point hole why not have near-to a pre-nerf scout? It gets stress but it puts out 4 dice with focus plus reroll(s). Late game it has a 2 dice pwt with focus plus reroll(s).

Edit: Of course if you already have dengar in your list, then he could be replaced with a k4 security droid.

I experimented with recon specialist last night instead of a droid? Standard load out apart from that, worked out ok.

Here's my 35pt scout:

Contracted Scout (35) - JumpMaster 5000

Deadeye (1), Plasma Torpedoes (3), Extra Munitions (2), 4-LOM (1), Overclocked R4 (1), Feedback Array (2), Guidance Chips (0)

I love Feedback Array, makes him a great blocker.

In general, the jump master is a great blocker. You could build out in the bumpmaster set.

JumpMaster 5000: Contracted Scout (25)

Intimidation (2)

Anti Pursuit Laser (2)

Feedback Array (2)

ยท R5-P8 (3)

The crew and astromech may be better served with an unhinged gonk, or whatever.

other than 4-LOM and feedback feeding pretty poorly into each other due to ionization, those are pretty much the two best upgrades you can slot onto a Scout

granted, they're better split between two separate scouts, but they're always welcome

Overclocked and Feedback are the new staples IMO.

Overclocked gives you the same damage output pre-nerf. After the first engagement, you spend the next turn just doing a random green, hoping for a bump and Feedback.

Rinse and repeat.

note overclocked does not give the same damage output pre-errata (unless you're talking about overclocked itself, because it didn't change at all) as proton r4 aggros

it does have the same damage output as plasma r4 aggros, as focus and TL are apparently statistically identical when it comes to generating hits

I think I will try this one first as it fills the same role, yet slightly less effective.

Even after the nerf i'm confident it is one of the best 35ish points valued ship in the game with its damage output, above average dial, 9 hit points w/ 2 green dies and a PWT.
