TFA Damage Deck nerfed? (or the person using it will get nerfed)

By Marinealver, in X-Wing

So for the Blinded Pilot there are 2 cards the classic and the TFA. Both say the same thing. However the TFA just got a lot of errata/FAQ stating that you cannot use Vader, Gunner and ACD (assuming you are still alive) while Classic states that you could still use those cards.

So was the critical damage effects unbalanced for the two that they decided to hit the TFA deck harder?

Both Blinded Crits do NOT say the same thing.

The OT deck says to roll 0 attack die. The TFA deck says you cannot attack. That's a big difference between the two.

There is an error in the FAQ. The image for the original Blinded Pilot card is shown under the FAQ entry for the TFA version of the card. There was no change to the card. If there were it would be in the Errata section of the FAQ.

Why are we talking about TFA vs. original decks? Isn't TFA the only damage deck these days (as in, it is an errata in and of itself?).

Both damage decks are still tournament legal and are both still have entries in the FAQ.

Muwhahahahahahahahaha!!!

Not a nerf at all! No change whatsoever. Just clarifying that it is indeed different from the old one.

The difference is still this:

In the old one, it just specifies 'attack' where you roll 0 dice. After that you discard. With TLT and clusters, this card is discarded after the first attack, and you may perform the next one unhindered.

In TFA, the entire attack sequence is dropped the next time you have a combat phase (unless you are on a rock, or disable your weapon). Hence, you can't even perform a double-attack, or gunner attack that misses.
Dengar and corran can use their abilites to get out of this mess in both cases.

BUT! The biggest difference lies in getting rid of the crit:
The old one needs you to actually fire at someone for you to roll the 0 dice nessecary to get rid of the crit.
In TFA you get rid of it regardless of if you can actually shoot at someone.

Hope this helps!
