RIP Tactician?

By Ailowynn, in X-Wing

Could anyone explain plainly and shortly the change in the thing with tactician?

All effects that take place after firing now occur after firing the final volley of a multi-step attack, once.

So now if I make two attacks (last one granted by gunner) I only give one stress.

It´s that it?

No. Tactician/Gunner still works as normal. Tactician/TLT or Cluster Missile is what's changed.

ARC can do Tactician/R3A2 which is double stressing.

I was disappointed by this change.

Was really looking forward to running 3 K-wings (TLT, Tactician) in this meta.

I'm kind of ok with this, stress control is a pretty dead mechanic between better alpha strikes, white k turns, and assigned or passed tokens, not to mention the constant influx of actionless modifiers. As much as i enjoyed playing control I hated having to constantly remind my opponents of tactician, having to basically stop the action of the game and insist my opponents put stress tokens out gets pretty infuriating pretty quickly

I think there has been quite an over reaction to the new FAQ. Tactician has been changed slightly and now he is worthless? If you are looking at a stress tactic and you only have 1 tactician in the list you are probably doing it wrong. Mixing him up with Debris fields etc still makes handing out stress a way to control certain ships.

I mean, it doesn't affect Gunner/Tactician or B-wing Panic Attack builds.

I'm just surprised that they nerfed TLT/Tactician combos... it didn't seem to be a problem in my books.

Design space, it allows for stronger "after attack" effects.
