Rebel Veterans Announcement Day?

By evanger, in X-Wing

I don't know why everyone has this idea that FFG has to release something with the same name immediately for Rebels when they release something for Imperials that is an outside of a wave pack. Yes, it happened with Aces, but with Heroes of the Resistance in the works, I find it really hard to believe they will release Rebel Veterans anytime soon. It would be really sad if scum isn't touched on next.

Also, I don't expect any announcements unless it is an epic. Wave 9 and Heroes of the Resistance gives us plenty of material to cover for the next couple months.

Scum was just a forced faction into this game...

I'd be extremely disappointed if HotR was Rebel Vets.

The E-wing and the T-65 desperately need help, and the Y-wing and Z-95 could both use some more variety.

My vote is for the E-wing and T-65. (I mean at this point, even Corran could use some help). I also just really want Corran and Tycho in X-wings, and of course to get Ooryl.

Given the dearth of named E-wing pilots from Legends (to the extent that FFG had to go with guys never associated with it), hopefully it can be recanonized as a retired New Republic fighter that the Resistance uses surplus examples of alongside their T-70 X-wings and RZ-2(?) A-wings. After all, FreiTek is already canon, since the T-70 was made by a post-merger Incom-FreiTek.

It probably isn't retired which would be why we don't see the Resistance using it. It probably flies alongside the T-80 in (what's left) of the New Republic fleet.

My hopes and dreams is they release a "most wanted" type packs for all 3 of the factions next wave. Fixing what needs to be fixed through all the factions. And implementing conditions and double sided cards correctly.

So almost like a soft 2.0.

Chances of it happening are slim to none. But a guy can dream.
