300 point scum advice needed

By kilos1982, in X-Wing Squad Lists

We're planning a massive 3 x 300 point Reb vs Imp vs Scum game in a few weeks and could do with some advice for my scum fleet. I have access to all the scum ships and we are allowed to proxy all cards so there is no limit in availability. We have imposed a limit of no more than 8 of one ship so no 12 z-95s I'm afraid.

With the most recent releases now on the table I'm tempted to field a full ESB Bounty squad with either Khiraxz or Z95 filler, but having had limited experience of epic play I am concerned that I will melt due to greater numbers and focus fire. Am I better looking at greater ship count and maybe including some torpedoes missiles and bombs?

I'm not necessarily looking for a list, but any advice would be greatly appreciated. I've searched for scum epic and haven't found much beyond the usual Scum Epic ship predictions/demands.

Are the Imps and/or the Rebels bringing huge ships? If so, then your scum fleet will have the advantage if you go for quantity over quality. However, that is also less fun.

I'd be inclined to go for all the iconic bounty hunters: Punishing One, Hound's Tooth, Aggressor(s), Slave1 and/or Andrasta, etc. Then fill up any left over points with eg Kavil, N'dru, Talonbane. Or generics if you lack the points for a name.

Aggressors are almost perfect for large fights, because they have enough hit points to survive a round or two, coupled with autothrusters and 3 greens. And don't cost a massive amount.

Killing 'Tie Fighter 32' isn't very memorable; killing Backstabber is.

Sorry should have specified there will be no huge ships

Serrissu, Palob, and Torkil would really help your team out. When you're doing 300 point teams, elite pilots don't fair so well so keep your ships cheap with generic pilots armed with missles/topedos. Quantity wins over quality when you start adding so many firing arcs, it makes arc dodging pretty impossible. Keep Serrissu near your ship you're most invested in.

I've started putting a list together, this is what i have so far

Dengar - Push the Limit, K4 Security Droid, Unhinged Astromech, Inertial Dampeners, Punishing One and Engine Upgrade. 57pts

Bossk - Veteran Instincts, 4-Lom, Zuckuss, K4 Security Droid, Feedback Array, Hound's Tooth and Engine Upgrade. 53pts

Boba Fett - Adaptability +1, Navigator, Slave 1 and Engine Upgrade. 46pts

IG88B - Crack Shot, Fire Control System, Mangler Cannon and Autothrusters. 45pts

This comes to 201 points leaving me 99 spare (could drop ID on Dengar to leave a round 100pts).

Should I fill up the remaining points with bug zappers? or keep to a named pilot list and throw in TBC/Guri/Serissu?

I'd check how your opponents are doing with their list. If they're using a massive swarm, then you'll also need lots of cheap ships; if not, then you can use more named pilots.

One thing that I would do is reduce the upgrades on each of your main guys. Any ship will die quickly if it's the focus of all the enemies.

Alternatively, fly eg 5 Kihraxzs as a screen for the large ships to act as ablative armour and then mop up after the initial carnage!
