Submitted my list... how's about you?

Since I'm so sure I'm not going to win, I thought I'd post my contest entry/thoughts.

Man, it was hard to not exclusively build around the Liberty! The sucker's so huge, and the double TL slots so tempting... it kept turning into a Christmas tree until I started building the Liberty last.

If I didn't have to stick the battlecruiser in there, I probably would have gone with some weird Independence/Yavvy FTC b-wing abuser list. (Pass the B's please!)

Anyways, I built a fleet around being able to punish no/light squadron builds, occupy air superiority builds, and abuse Madine to do some Fast and the Furious: Endor Drift antics with ye olde winger-pickle. Plus, a Jaina's Light TRC, 'cause, you know, it just rocks.

Yavaris plus new fighter upgrades lets you move speed 1 and still double tap (well, at least for two fighters: particularly in a fighter furball, doubling the x's output on the alpha I'm sure would do a lot in the contest as well as having the luxury of flakking the enemy first).

The transport is there for bomber re-rolls. I was trying to fit Toryn Farr in there somewhere for double-reroll, 3 b-wing double tap fun, but alas, too many other juicy things.

Oh yes, I definitely started by building around the Liberty, but I do imagine that most rebel contestants will be trying to incorporate Yavaaris and a bomber wing in there. Though there are still plenty of cheap options to make the liberty an interesting ship and still get in the bomber wing. Just takes a good bit of thought and a little bit of ridiculousness.

I still haven't submitted mine as I am really trying to tailor my list to the judges' descriptions (go big or go home). But submitting early might be in my best interest so that I can focus on real life for longer than a few minutes, haha.

What I'm most looking forward to, though, is seeing everyone else's lists, especially the chosen ones.

I'm still doing a little bit of fine tuning myself before I turn it in. I want to try and run it once before I submit it too. I've actually been trying to use multiple Fighter Coordination Teams to really move B-Wings and other bombers around. There's a bunch of 2x of each basic squadron right now to add in some variety. Squeezed in a Han Solo for added effect!

I'm so busy at work now suddenly. So not yet. Good thing I've got no life and a Holiday weekend with no plans means I'll finalize something on Sunday.

I'm definitely feeling the Rebels. Although I look forward to being a jerk with Imperial shenanigans.

Mine's not going to win, but I REALLY want to try it.

The Corvettes go in with the bombers (and especially Nym) to strip defense tokens from the opponents ships. Toryn Farr provides rerolls to help get the crits to power the NK-7 Ion Cannons, and Nym's ability. The MC-80 Star Cruiser comes in behind and shoots to kill, using leading shots since accuracies won't be as necessary. The Bright Hope pushes the bombers (with Adar Tallon letting Nym shoot twice) and gives them rerolls. Mon Mothma is the admiral to help keep the Corvettes alive while they do their jobs, and the X-Wings are there to help Nym get through (and pile on some damage of their own).

Like DUR, I'd probably build this differently without needing the Liberty, (although it makes a very nice hammer)in there.

I also kind of wish the contest let us submit one entry for each faction, since I have ideas on an Imperial version of this kind of build, but it would be missing Nym, and that would make me sad.

I have so many lists atm. . . Imperial ER, Neberty Away!, Interdoctor United, Liberty or Death. . . So many lists. Just tweaking them all looking for that spark. . .

Not yet. I had intended to submit my Critical Miss list but then realized I had to include a bunch of things from wave three and four, and now I have no idea.

I tried to do quite a few things with the Liberty, but none of them seemed to "feel" right.

First I tried to do Madine with Mon Karren and Admonition and Yavaris + B Wings (and Bright Hope token support), but I didn't feel 2 X-Wings and Jan would be enough to stall/shut down a Rhymerball. So I switched Madine for Dodonna, heavily built Mon Karren and Admonition around crits, swapped Yavaris for Salvation, but I noticed that the crit focus might not make up for the dice lost from losing the two B Wings.

Next, I tried Liberty in a carrier centered fleet, but noticed that I'd only have two non-flotilla ships (and I feel that the Liberty class in general seems fragile).

Then, I tried Mon Karren with Home One and Madine + engine techs, but wasn't sure how just two non-flotilla ships would do versus something like Demo (come to think of it, I should have had the flotilla have Slicer Tools, that might have made it work).

Then I tried bum-rush redcoat gunline dual Liberties and dual Neb-b's, but the weak side-arcs on those ships would have made the fleet crumble.

The problem is, there's just something off here. I'm not sure what it is, but there's just something about this list that makes me feel like its missing something important. Perhaps it's the naked AFMKIIs?

So I couldn't come up with anything I liked, and went with my Imperial list that I came up with almost immediately after I learned about the contest. I'm happy to post it if anyone's curious. In the meantime, I hope my experimentation and theorizing helps at least someone come up with a successful fleet!

I'm of the mind that flotillas should be used primarily to compliment squadrons, because otherwise you're wasting points. As such, I started this Imperial list with a classic Rhymerball. I know, bore snore. However, I wanted to make a list that was explicitly anti-Demolisher and Rhymer is a natural starting point. My problem was fitting everything I wanted while still having a solid anti-squadron contingent. I opted to go with a jamming field alongside Mauler and Fel. They can work inside the field with no impact to their primary abilities, all while providing super cheap protection for the bombers.

The Interdictor is the next critical piece of the list. Nothing says '**** Demolisher' to me like the Targeting Scrambler. It absolutely neuters the special ordnance and dice manipulation of close range brawlers such as Gladiators and MC30s. I also like what the Gav Well Generators do to enemy deployment. It makes the Minefields objective even more horrible than it already was. There's been a lot of talk about whether the ship is worth the points. To me, there is no question it is. Deployment is a huge part of this game, so the ability to disrupt that on such a significant way is well worth it. A Combat Refit with just Grav Well Generators is only 96 points and a double arc has almost the same firepower as a VSDII.

Finally, I really wanted an ISD in this list. I thought about double Interdictors, but in the end I really needed the brutality of the ISD. I couldnt get the ISD II in, so I settled for the ISD I with the hope that the Interdictor's Targeting Scrambler could mitigate the lack of ECMs. I also decided to go with Chiraneau over Jumpmasters (I was originally going to have two) in an effort to save points as well as have one less thing for Fel to cover.

**** Dur that is practically the same list I was going to submit. Except I included a tantilles IV for token pushing and used Liberty. Couple other minor things. Not gonna submit that now cuz too close to yours, but I called it "Token Resistance"

I already submitted my imp list the first day it went online as I was bored in the office. Still not sure how FFG is going to pick one - if the battle itself will be presented in some article, chances are that they are going for some kind of "showcase" list, means model variety, some nice combos to write about but not ultra-competitive.

I like it. I was absolutely looking at using the Suppressor/Avenger combo (I think stuff like that is what they are looking for) with about the same build, and including target disrupters. But if I'm being honest, I was really just tooling the imperial lists to see how I should build a solid rebel list

It honestly just felt like it would be fun to play... and annoying to play against. I personally can't wait to crush my son's puny Rebel fleet with this list. He has been going mor and more into the hit and run away lists. I need to put a stop to that. Still should wor on various list types as well.
