36th Combat Group - Imperial Navy

By CheesyRobMan, in Star Wars: Armada Painting and Modification

Fleet pics to start off with - largely stock paintjobs but I've added windows to the ships and painted the TIEs.

Look Great! Did you free hand the lines in the inside of the tie fighter "wings" ??

Yes, it took a while and lots of corrections but I think it was worth it :)

****, thats some skill, I considered doing mine, but looking at how many panels that meant, I decided the easy option haha :)

Great work!

I was trying to think how to do it (I can not draw a straight line ) so I'm thinking about taking a sticky note and using it as a guiding edge to paint against to make the lines on the inside

Those are GORGEOUS! Very well done! :)

The one SD is a Gladiator class, right?

I remember seeing that for the first time, many years ago on Star Wars Droids (or at least the design that inspired the Gladiator class) back in the 80's.

Didn't that ship recently become canon?

Yeah the one with the forked front is a Gladiator, one of the niftiest armada ships (if you ever want to lay an imperial fleet on a table and actually play I strongly suggest getting one)

Yeah, I just picked up the miniature yesterday.

I generally just collect the miniatures, and use them as bases for my CG model building. (They make awesome visual references...and texture sources).

I do hope sometime soon to get into the game itself. :)

My X Wing collections consists of the Millennium Falcon, the CR-90 Corellian Corvette (Tantive IV), and the Lambda T4a shuttle.

My Armada collection is the Gladiator class, Victory class, and Imperial class star destroyers.

Also picked up a couple of Imperial fighter packs so the hangars will be full soon!

The rest of the Villains are painted up:

Great stuff man, keep it coming.

The immaculate detail I wish my hands were that steady.

A few action shots from last night's game vs my friend's Rebel fleet. Yes I know I need to paint more squadrons lol.

The Imperial fleet deploys TIEs to attack the Rebels.

Bombers get stuck in, while the VSDs open up on the Rebel frigate.

Closing to weapons range.

End game - one VSD got blown away by Ackbar's broadsides, but the Star Destroyers did enough damage to allow the TIE bombers to finish the Rebel flagship off. Iota squadron will be suitably honoured.

TIE Bombers - got a couple of stands done so far.

Gozanti Cruisers - an impulse buy-and-paint from yesterday.

Iota Squadron finished :)

First of the TFs from the squadron pack finished. These guys will be Beta Squadron - Alpha will be the TIEs from the core set, Gamma for the Interceptors, and Mu for the Advanced. Each squadron will have a distinct marking - so far it's yellow chevrons on the panels for Iota, and a white stripe above the cockpit for Beta.
