Mace Windu is alive

By Crabbok, in X-Wing Off-Topic

While people have certainly lived through worse in Star Wars *cough* Darth Maul *cough* I find it highly unlikely that we'll ever be seeing Mace Windu again in a story that takes place after ROTS.

It's always nice though when actors are excited about and interested in their Star Wars characters though.

I DO think they could do a short story on the immediate aftermath of his fight with Palpatine though. Where is his lightsaber for example? And suppose he landed somewhere but was still barely alive... did he have some last words for someone? Maybe he landed in a backyard and gave a young red-headed girl his purple lightsaber and told her where to seek out training!

Yoda used the force to lift a freakin' X-Wing out of a swamp.

Do I have to say more?

Would love a Windu that entirely left his Jedi ways at some point, i think that would be interesting.

Well given that lifting an object is light years away from stopping yourself falling at terminal velocity onto a concrete floor I think you do.

No! No different! Only different in your mind. You must unlearn what you have learned.

Since he was full of hate, he could have sustained himself with it ala Darth Maul, so maybe he's Snoke.

In Rebels and TCW Jedi stop themselves while jumping from high heights a couple times.

Any height jump isn't out of the question for a Jedi Master like Windu.

The question is was he strong or conscious enough to save himself when he fell.

It's very easy to argue that he could have lived.

I just think story wise they don't have a place for him right now or a need to say 'actually he lived.' As cool as it would be.

Hi, my name is Commander Shepard, and this is my favourite fan theory on the X-wing boards.

Isn't anybody in these movies dead? :D

Well we all know how highly I regard those shows....

Best theory so far, and one I wouldn't mind. Too much. It'd explain the injuries.

Except that Snoke has both arms. Anakin chopped one off.

Biggs is the only one who stays dead.

Biggs is the only one who stays dead.

Wrong, Biggs is the Kenny of this game, destined to die over and over and not even his best friend remembers him.

Evidence for Mace living:

The original clone wars cartoon had him jumping huge distances and using the force in crazy ways.

Maul survived being Gonking cut in half AND falling down a bottomless pit.

Anakin and Kenobi both fall long distances in coruscant and survive easily.

Mace had only lost a hand and was not mortally wounded.

BAMF. Nuff said.

Evidence for a Dead Windu:

He was force lightning at full power before he fell.

Jedi have a poor record of using the force while injured even slightly (witness Kenobi crumpling like a baby when Dooku grazes him a couple times)

He makes zero appearances after Order 66 and is not even rumored to be alive in universe.

Of course, in true comic book/serial fashion if there's no body, he's not dead.

Overcoming gravitational attraction to lift an X-Wing or overcoming gravitational acceleration to lift a human body - these two things do not strike me as being light years away from one another.

You can jump high and land because your augmenting your legs but making them strong enough to survive going from 56 meters a second to 0ms is another matter, couple of stories no problem but several hundred meters nope.

And I've never seen a force push in any media that equals that kind of speed, a body in motion remains in motion until an equal or opposite force is applied that's just basic physics.

Jedi can't fly so they can't ignore gravity.

Did you forget all the cartoon physics in the prequels? It was rediculous, everyone should be dead 10 times over from all the falls, shoves, explosions, ect. I'm surprised Jar Jar didn't take a huge mallet and start hitting battle droids turning them into metal pancakes that said 'roger roger'.

So Yoda was augmenting his ... what exactly.... when he lifted an XWing out of the swamp?

Yoda was using the force on another object not himself.

If Jedi could lift themselves like that you'd see them flying instead they can levitate a few inches.

Jedi high jumps are a result of them using the force to boost their natural abilities same as running fast they Arnt lifting themselves like they do other objects.

Another Jedi could catch mace but no where does it show they can hold themselves up.

I'd watch it.

The constant concentration and effort that would be needed to fly would be way too draining to use during battle or for transportation. Plus flying around makes you an easy target (no cover) and if concentration is broken the Jedi immediately falls. Too bad they don't have antigravity belts or rocket packs...

Oh wait.

Anyway, it should be much easier to slow down while falling than to create enough lift to fly around.
