Scum and Villainy 35: US Nationals and Underused Cards

By Kelvan, in X-Wing

For the Quickdraw list submissions, are we assuming that the rules will allow attacks during the activation phase?

Yes

If it's ruled eventually that there is no activation phase attacks allowed, will anyone use Quickdraw ever?

Hopefully FFG will "get **** done" and make us a Concealed Blaster that's worth the 3 points.

make it an ACTION card.

Outmanuever is under played. It may be the only way to keep A wings relevant amonst the defender builds. Baffle is surprising people still. Anti pursuits are pretty good. Intel agent is maybe undsr used. Pilot skill 2 and 1 in general :)

Baffle is incredible. It makes shuttles super fun and maneuverable. Take the damage and stay still forever! (literally forever, your ship blew up...)

Great episode! I really liked this one. I love off the wall stuff.

Backstabber is my favorite Tie Fighter. I stick him in whenever I can. Once the Inquisitor came out, I came up with a list that has all the Ties that can boost their attack value and called it "Imperial Gunslingers". So, that's The Inquisitor, Zeta Leader, Mauler Mithel, Scourge, and Backstabber. Throw in a lot of Adaptations and it's a fun list!

I have been trying to figure out 4 ship Imperials in the last week or two. First at a local with Wampa Inq Redline Alpha squad :).... Redline was me being silly. After listening to this Backstabber chatter, and switching to Carnor Inquisitor and dropping gimmick line... Im going to give Backstabber a shot.

The swap from alpha squad to backstabber saves me 4 points... Hello prockets!

Backstabber is one of the most efficient ships in the game.

Oh what, NOW we hate turrets?

I give Dengaroo the "Skill based or just generally non-game ruining turret list" stamp of approval.

We finally have a turret list with interesting upgrades and ships that care about maneuvers, and we have to degrade it.

Also, no talk of Mindlink on Brobots. Shame. How can I get you guys to discuss this?

Vader crew is way underused. It's easily one of the best cards in the game, even without the gunner pairing.

There we go. I'll add it to the list of things to potentially talk about next podcast.

As for what I think would be cool topics to discuss, here are a few-

-Inventive ways to make munitions work on ships other than Jumps

-Lists the 'meta' missed. A discussion of lists the cast feel could have been great in the Wave 8 meta but never gained enough traction to find a place.

-'old pilot, new tricks' . A look back at pilots or ships from early expansions and looking at newly released or spoiled upgrades and their potential combinations

It's this list specifically:

IG-B & D, each with Attanni Mindlink, FCS, HLC, Feedback Array, Autothrusters, IG-2000.

Often what happens is that one will sloop, and the other will green and focus, that's why I run D instead of C.

Every game I begin with a forward facing fortress. When they do hard ones at each other, they remain stationary. You can do a one bank and 3 bank in formation and they will not bump. You can do identical straight maneuvers and then fortress halfway up the board lol.

In short, what Attanni Mindlink allows me to do is gain much of the benefits of Advanced Sensors, /while still maintaining the gunner FCS wombo combo/.

Feedback Array is absolutely necessary. Against Acewing lists, if you can get to an endgame with a 1-2 health Acewing against your large base Feedback Array ship with boost that moves first and can bump, you're set.

Remember, Mindlink does not stack tokens. If you already have a focus or a stress, and the other Brobot gets a stress or focus, you do not acquire a second one. You can however receive a Mindlink focus or stress, and then pile another stress or focus on top with the focus action or Inertial Dampeners, although we run Feedback Array lol.

With Mindlink ships you want to move in a white -> red/risk of traveling over debris -> green order. Occasionally the way your ships are positioned will force you to move them in a sub-optimal order, of course.

Sensor Jammer. Word! Only trouble is that I only have one copy of the Imperial Shuttle Expansion Pack, so only one Sensor Jammer. I have a squad with Carnor Jax, Zertik Strom and Captain Kagi. Currently Kagi has Sensor Jammer, and Strom has Accuracy Corrector. If I had another copy of Sensor Jammer, I'd probably replace the Accuracy Corrector with that.

I really liked the podcast. Very fun.

I used to run shuttles with Jammer. Great card!

I hadn't seen this list but I'm going to give it a go.

Alex: Highroller (Zeta Leader) is outstanding. He is, in fact, in Dallas' Regional winning Crack Swarm. And I love me some Conner Net. I fielded Nets at Worlds; killing Soontir without ever actually hitting him IS THE BEST. I'm back to fielding them of late (been playing Miranda/Chopper post Regionals).

Wedge is also a great card that has sort of fallen out of favour. I've been loving him in this list of late:

34 Wedge w/ PtL, BB8, Integrated.

26 Biggs w/ R4D6, Integrated.

40 Lothal w/ FCS, ABT, Hera, Chopper.

Ooh, I like that. *adds to squads to try on league night* :)
