Which one for regionals?

By KnightHammer, in X-Wing Squad Lists

My local regionals is in 2 days time and im agonising over 2 different lists, i like them both equally but not sure which one to go for (there will be no Imperial Vets being used)

Brobots probably has more staying power but suffers badly if you get blocked or arc dodged but can hit hard

Dengaroo can force damage through, more forgiving if you make a mistake and the return fire can scare people into not shooting

99points

Dengar - Lone Wolf, Plasma Torpedoes, Zuckuss, Overclocked R4, Inertial Dampeners, Punishing One, Counter-Measures

Manaroo - Push the Limit, Plasma Torpedoes, “Gonk” , R5-P8, Feedback Array, Counter-Measures

100points

IG88B - Title, FCS, Autothrusters, HLC, Glitterstim, Crack Shot

IG88C - Title, FCS, Autothrusters, HLC, Glitterstim, Crack Shot

I will be straightforward and tell you that I won't answer your question outright, just help you answer it. I also have zero experience with Dengaroo, and most of my BroBot experience is with a different list, though with a similar idea.

My first question is: Do you have one that you feel more comfortable flying consistently for 5+ rounds? If so, go with that one. I have limited higher level XWing competitive tournament experience, but as a former national competitor in other games I know that the long days can make for easy mistakes, especially when some thing like actions or maneuvers that are highly variable are in play.

Second question is: which do you feel more confident flying against Palp/Triple Aces? With their recent success at the System Open's I imagine they will be ever-present.

Thirdly: Consider which list you feel you have a better plan against 15k.

If you go with BroBots, make sure you have a rock solid plan against the Jumpmasters. Eight health melts quickly to four hit torpedoed. My experience with the robots has taught me that smart obstacle placement, range control and autothrusters will go a long way in allowing you to get behind them and tail them. Surviving the initial engagement is everything!
