Freemakers = Fourth Faction

By patox, in X-Wing

Having watched 3 episodes of Lego Star Wars: the Freemakers Adventures, getting past the zany hijinks and how they're all made of Lego, the show makes a great case for a fourth faction.

Call the Freemaker siblings, Citizens of the Galaxy or Merchants and Commonfolk. Whatever, it is, the main characters are not on any side of the Galactic Civil War (at least not in the first few episodes). They are at odds with Scum and Villainy and have entanglements with both Imperials and Rebels

It's a new spin on the Star Wars galaxy. One that's not directly part of the Skywalker soap opera or the Rebellion. Just everyday people in a galaxy far, far away trying to make ends meet.

While it would be great to see non-Lego versions of the ships and characters from Freemaker Adventures, the Citizens of the Galaxy Fourth Faction doesn't even need to pull from this source.

No thanks!

Terrible name for a faction.

No fourth faction

I like a lot of what Lego has been doing lately, with their video games and the movie, but I really hope that this Lego SW doesn't end up in X Wing. Lego SW is a different universe to the main Star Wars universe, so I'm almost positive it won't be considered canon. And I really don't want the design sensibilities and restrictions that determine how a Lego vehicle looks to start creeping in to actual canon SW designs (even if they are rebuilt a tad so they're not as obviously Lego based).

Boba and Bossk don't get along either and I am pretty sure the HWK pilots stole the Crow from each other. S&V is not a unified faction and fit to gather up almost everything.

No thanks. I think we've got a good set of prime factions right now that are fairly deep ship-wise, along with two sub-factions that need some more filling out. While the First Order and Resistance gain more ships, the "catch-all" Scum faction is a pretty good place for any other ship FFG wants to put out- it covers multiple minor groups like the Black Sun, Hutt Cartel, Mandalorians, and Bounty Hunters Guild.

We're all just folk now.

Besides, the question is surely at what point they flesh out the Force Awakens stuff enough to break them away from Empire/Rebels and make it 5 factions.

They're rebels aren't they? Also, a whole faction for two people seems a bit much.

4 people. Three siblings and their droid. :P

But yeah. No fourth faction. And no these stories are in no way canon. Lego stories have their own continuity. ;)

Nah

As things are now, everything is awesome

0/10 idea, all the way around...

Stick them in Scum & Villainy, alongside the Azzameens.

S&V, the "everything else" of X-Wing.

I don't get why we would want that. As it is everything is fine. The First Order is confirmed to use old empire tech and it makes a lot of sense for the Resistance to use Rebel Alliance tech, with how little funds they are allowed to have.

Gameplaywise it would legitimately upset me if there was an unneccessary rule that made old, fun squads illegal. Homerule eras however you like, but don't have FFG force it in OP.

Interesting point. It's all subjective though. I feel this way towards 99% of the EU (Thrawn crud included). It doesn't fit with MY idea of the SW universe, my personal canon.

It could be argued that Rebels has a certain style or design. It managed to get represented in the game. I'm not happy with that decision so I simply don't buy the ships.

Here we have Disney endorsed ships that admittedly, adhere to a certain style. Real-world them up a bit and throw them on the table. They're more 'Star Wars' than half of what we've seen since Wave 5.

Lego faction! Novel idea!

I think they're fine in S&V if it ever comes to that. The thing is, if common folk fight against the Empire long enough, they usually become Rebels anyway. So if they're not with the Rebels, put them in S&V; if the join the Rebels, put them in Rebels.

Here's your fourth faction:

They're all Scum. They just don't know it.
