A final battle that involves the board?

I'm thinking of an idea for a GOO where the final battle involves some kind of movement of monsters on the board. Much as I support the final battle being in AH , I do think it would be nice if a final battle could still involve the board sometimes. I saw a Godzilla GOO posted here where at the start of the final battle Godzilla is placed on the River Docks and then moves once each round along the black arrows, and if he makes it to Downtown then Arkham is destroyed. I thought that was very clever. I was thinking of something where, once the final battle is triggered, you leave all Investigators and monsters where they are on the board... so where you are and how many monsters are left could be important factors as to your chances... and each round there is some kind of movement of the monsters and/or placement of new monsters, and the investigators have to either prevent them from moving somewhere, or prevent them from reaching a certain number. Doom tokens could be removed from the GOO for each monster killed (or one doom token removed for every X monsters killed, where X equals the number of investigators), and there could be some kind of increasing difficulty each round, as is typical for final battles.

This would (or at least could) address the complaints that the final battle seems like a different thing than the rest of the game (I don't entirely agree with that, but anyway), as this would involve Upkeep, Movement, fighting monsters and probably a brief Mythos phase where the monsters are added and moved based on the Mythos card(s) drawn (I'm thinking you draw one Mythos card per player and add/move monsters based on the locations and symbols). This could certainly add some length to the final battle, but it would be cool and hopefully worth the time... and it wouldn't necessarily be that long if the starting conditions are such that the investigators are likely to win/lose based on the game conditions at that point (which is often the case with final battles). But the idea is to make the final battle look and feel like a real battle , with monsters pouring out and moving all over the place and investigators frantically trying to stop them.

Or has that idea already been done with some variant? If so, I'd love to try it. Otherwise, what are some thoughts you have as far as making something like that work?

What you can do is make a GOO as a Monster Token and incorporate movement points with it. You made need to adjust a couple things with it, but it would be nice if you can use prexisting GOO and modify them. I like the idea.

Hah! That's a nice idea for a non-final battle effect. Having a respawning GOO move around the board whenever crescents move. It'd make a good herald... Heh... And it could be built in with a die randomizer at the beginning of the game that determines whether it is fast, stalking, or flying. Hmmm... Perhaps I have a new herald to make ;') I would add a doom token to it whenever it devours an investigator.

I think that might work for a couple AOs but guys like Cthulhu would only need one move to get to Dunwhich.
