Advice: Need a Day Case for going to the Store

By John Rainbow, in X-Wing

I have this go-pro case that works excellently - it has a bunch of arrangeable dividers that allow you secure ships quite nicely, and it's deep enough to have room for everything but the long range ruler. I got it a lot cheaper at REI (with my discounts/member refunds), but you can find some decent ones at Amazon, including their own Basics line - this one has precut foam, but comes with the cut-outs so you can easily customize it if needed. This one is a cheaper version of the one I have. You can search Amazon for generic hard cases and find a ton that come with or without foam/dividers.

I really like this idea!

It works for table transport too, just have to hold it right ;) I leave it open and use both sides for organizing tokens, dice, etc. during play, and toss everything back in for quick table changes. Big plus is I can toss it in a backpack with a full squad ready to fly and not have to worry about anything getting crushed, as the one I have has a heavy plastic shell and is almost as durable as a Pelican case.

This is one of those games where you can almost spend as much on 3rd party accessories than on the actual product :P

Well, now I'm going to have to search the camera department looking for one! Again, thanks for the info.

I would go for a KR case.

You can get ships, tokens, templates, dials and cards in to a 1/2 KRU case which you can get a card case full of foam for £25

If your list has large ships then you can get different foam for ships like this for a falcon and 2 small ships:

This is my travel case, works pretty well for me. I have one template tray and then the second tray I pick the most appropriate tray from my little collection of their trays.

I've got a whole album dedicated to just this question.

It's mostly about how I store all my gear, but there are a few pictures of my game day transport solution

It's a Plano 5321 - can't recommend it enough

This is what I use, have one for each faction since I enjoy collecting, though I use the top parts for the ship base tiles, and a smaller, separate plano thing for tokens and the like.

I also have a 12 plastic toolbox I have managed to gently fit the three epic ships I own into, insulated with the horrific loads of little crack ziplocks that X-Wig ships come with.
