After playing quite a bit with small-based ships, I've got a hankering to play some of the lesser used large guys. I figure that a good starting point is the Firespray and YV-666. Kath has always been my favorite Scum Firespray pilot, and I like the thought of Moralo's ability to lay cannon fire in a 180 arc.

I think you'd enjoy it better if you dropped the Mangler on Kath for an Engine Upgrade. "Mangler" Cannon only works out the front arc and Kath usually wants to shoot out the rear arc. If you replace it with Engine Upgrade, you can have an easier time repositioning that rear arc. With Predator on her, she gets dice modification without an action so it's not so bad to use your action to boost.

I'm a huge fan of K4 on the YV-666, but the last time I suggested it, I got dog-piled by people telling me to use Dengar instead. I think there are pros and cons to both. In this build, I do like K4 better because you want to clear the stress from 4-LOM anyway, so you might as well get a free TL off of that.

Other than that, I agree that it does look like a fun list.

Drop APL from both of them. It's really not needed.

Like above, Engine Upgrade is what I'd immediately suggest on Kath. A Firespray without EU won't accomplish much and that Mangler is essentially 4 pts a for a mod on your front-arc that won't help you actually land a hit. In short, a waste.

And yeah, Dengar is a much better choice than K4 because it allows you to mod dice on a full-stop or while hard-turning, two necessary maneuvers for a YV-666. Also, 4-LOM doesn't give you a stress token (it gives you an ion token), so you're safe there.

I could just drop the APLs to take EU for Kath, what would be decent for the extra 2 points (I'm not worried about initiative with this list, so might as well load up the points)? If I drop the mangler as well, that's 6 extra points to play with.

I would take Dengar but I don't have the JM5K yet, so K4 is what I'm going with.

Huh. Never even thought about that, but I actually really like the option of hurting people who get behind Moralo.

Any suggestions for the final 4 points? Maneuvering Fins on Moralo with Prox mines on Kath? Kath with either Cluster mines or Conner Net? EU for Moralo?

Yeah, EU on Moralo sounds about right.
