Is there anything that comes exclusively with the Interdictor that you could use in a Rebel squad? How about the tractor beams, are they in any other packs?
Greedily maximizing the free stuff you get if you win that competition
I used 2 instances of medical crews in my imperial list so I have the chance of getting 2 Liberty packs if I win.

Flight Commander/Fighter Coordination Center. I will probably put both in my list, not to get free Interdictors (nice as that would be), but because they're good.
As long as you realise that one of the critera for a winning list was those who used the upgrades efficiently.

And that for top prize it has to win the tournament..
Yep, there is a lot of critera all up.
I think the key is timely use of the hypnotoad.

Yes, but I've played about 4 games of Armada in my life, the chances of me making a decent fleet are negligible anyway ![]()
I'm much more concerned with a good, fun list to watch the finalist match rather than what I could win from it.

Then if you win can I have your toys?

Maybe
but I'd have to win first. I would probably give away some of it, like the core set, since I have several of them.

I freely admit, its not part of the actual competition information post, so its entirely possible it was just in one of the fringe posts, and thus, not relevant ![]()

I actually would advise against trying to build lists which just maximize what you get if you win. FFG might mark against you for that.

I should mention my original post was slightly tongue in cheek.

Those qualities, I think, will help you in he long run.
No doubt but it is still something to consider. FFG is likely looking for a Fleet that helps sing what Armada is. So squadrons, iconic ships, a spark of something that gets your desire to play rising, and above all else, showing that this is the game of the People.

Mine will just be something that looks as much like the fleet from Jedi as possible, whilst also sounding fun to play and seeming reasonable practical.

I did my thoughts on the 4 judges on the page where we were discussing he competition. Take it for what it's worth
Alex Davy wants a list that is competitive but not necessarily efficient. He wants it built around the commander.

That's a point - I should probably use Ackbar thematically, but he won't be that handy with Liberty. But then fluff-wise Liberty won't actually do anything, so maybe that's perfect ![]()
Aye, that's what I did with my competition fleet Mazz0: ROTJ 'compliant' with a lot of classic ships and thematic star wars elements, a few new wave III and IV spices to freshen up old staples, but not work in an overly complex manner like it was running mathematical proofs for extra credit. I avoided min-maxed lists and heavy redundancy choices, but it's got some fleet interaction every turn. I didn't build a fleet to get a 10-0 tournament score or to maximize the 'what if' reward that FFG offered: those considerations weren't in the spirit of what I was trying to conjure up. So I went with a fleet that I thought looked like a lot of fun and still has a good chance at winning against any typical fleet. More over, I'm planning on fielding it as soon as Wave IV drops.
Actual cost and expansion-composition considerations came up as an afterthought. I tallied mine up after it was submitted and I think it requires 7 expansions, most are small change ones. But like Ardaedhel said, I think the Flight Commander/Flight Coordination Teams are going to be very hard for Alliance fleets to pass up.

I doubt FFG are reading this, no need to pretend ![]()
I think I saw FFG Sam Stewart himself in here earlier
Full disclosure, two of the expansions that I need are required for just one card. I was a little irritated when I found out because of what might be inferred. Then I remembered just which ships those were and suddenly I didn't feel so awkward ![]()
I've got a lot of plastic space ships, people ever offer me money to paint even more, and that goes back into even more spaceships and space-ship related accessories. I'm a happy altruistic Armadaphile. Not that I wouldn't be a gloating, dancing, jabbering Armadaffectionado* if I got Wave III or IV ships before anyone else around here!
*What are we calling ourselves these days?
Edited by VykesI sent in my list. I have only played a couple of demos of Armada, so I have no illusions on the fact that my list will not likely be chosen, much less win. If it does, I will laugh. What I sent in just sounded fun to me, and only used a single upgrade card. Though thinking back on it, it may have been better to drop a few squadrons for another flotilla. My list has 3 ships, 1 flotilla, and 5 squadrons in it. Used ships from both expansion 3 and 4 as required by the rules, but I didn't see anything saying upgrades must be used, so I didn't, just the commander.
Tarkin on an Interdictior for 131 points, and then something like 8 Gozantis with repair crews for a repair crazy flotilla that thinks it's a rhymerball. 32 points each. 12 Ponts for inititive bid and you get a core set, an Interdictior and 16 flotillas. A flotilla of flotilla.
