Why do they need another fix? They are awesome with the latest expansion.
I really don't know if I'd go as far too say they are awesome with the new expansion. One thing my friends and I discussed awhile back was having a crew slot on them would be great. However I didn't think they'd take away their missles.
I'm disappointed with them so far. The Defender got the better luck of the draw on this one I believe
We may see bombers a little more, but after the dust settles, they'll still be sitting on the back shelf, except with those of us who want to use them.
Sadly I believe they'll still remain uncompetitive
I've done well with Tie Bombers at Store Championships before Extra Munitions, Guidance Chips, and Long Range Scanners. I don't see a problem with them. Then again, I don't care for the tournament scene anymore. I know Tie Bombers are fine with the latest fixes.

Well, they're not even on the list. They're very decent
Can't say the same for basically all jousters that aren't tie fighters or defenders (or jm5ks while they have torpscouts)
Apart from being hideously rng prone due to lack of shields, they're pretty strong
Now if you're talking about the poor punisher, then yeah the big guy needs a little love

The ships in need of "fixing" are simply mathematically inefficient compared to other options AND have seemingly little/nothing to show for it
For example,
tie fighter = efficient
Awing = NOT efficient; has hilarious dial + boost + potential double ept to compensate
X-Wing = NOT efficient; has...Biggs?
The bomber is actually, as a naked PS, fairly generously priced just for its base stats. Now that ordnance is worth using, it's also THE cheapest dedicated ordnance platform in the game ("dedicated" meaning "more than one shot")
Throw in the potential of bombs,either drop on dial reveal or death fire (THE cheapest effective Conner carrier by a huge margin) and the Bomber brings things to the table far beyond its statline

They're not super great that everyone is going to be using them, but they're still useful so that us cool kids who love TIE Bombers can bring them out and not get dumped on.

Sorry, I was merely musing that most everything that isn't wining in the Top Tier will soon see a thread/post about them needing a fix. If they do ending wining then we will see posts about how over powered they are.
Either way we are sure to see one if not both posts about most ships.

I note nobody ever calls for the Lambda Shuttle needing a fix...
I mean, aside from carrying Palpatine, you never see it used for anything else at top tournament tables (and everyone knows the ONLY thing in the whole world that matters is top tables at tournaments).
I think Bombers are fine as is with the new improvements/options. Here's the thing: not all ships need to be ELITE. A Bomber is not an elite dogfighting vessel and it can serve very capably as a support (shuttle) or ordnance vessel. You shouldn't be able to run a bunch of clunky bombers at air superiority fighters. What really needs to happen is for the meta to emerge where you take complimentary ships rather than just spamming questionable units (e.g., Ordnance Scouts, TLT Ys) or a super powerful upgrade (e.g., Palpatine or, back in its day, Advanced Cloaking Device). Lists with an Ace and 2-4 varied support craft are so much more fun than any spammed units.
Doomshuttle still sees a lot of use.
I think 4 x Gamma Squadron Veterans with Plasma Torpedoes, Extra Munitions, Deadeye and Guidance Chips could ruin a lot of Contracted Scouts days. Could even switch Deadeye out for Crackshot

What you don't want is having your bombers getting focus fire, so you need something that can shrug off that dmg, or take it like a champ. Spamming four Gammas is not going to win tournaments, but maybe tomax, whisper and omega leader can do well if flown right.

What I would have loved to see is bombers get some kind of bonus when attacking k large/huge ships. It is what they are suppose to do. Not engage in dogfighting.

but thats neras thing
Bomber swarms are really good IMO, they have tons of HP and a decent dial along with Howl they are pretty deadly and brawny sporting 33 hit points. I have yet to try them as ordnance boats but things are looking up with Veterans.

That list does screw over U Boat lists, problem is, it in turn gets screwed over by PalpAces. I believe that's why it doesn't see a lot of tournament scene maybe. Putting all your eggs into one basket to fight a list you may not even see.

While it'll do great against jousters, it'll fall flat against ace lists. They just fly around you, while you keep trying to 3turn and barrel roll trying to catch them in arc
With the new expansion and recent munitions patches, Bombers are now a perfectly viable and entirely sensible ordnance platform.
... pity Jumpmasters broke ordnance in half before the Aces pack came out, eh?

I don't believe a freighter should make a better missle platform vs a military grade ship that is designed to carry bombs and missles.

Well, sure.
It's because the generic is not only excellent value, but has all the munitions upgrade slots you could dream for, and an EPT at PS3.
This matters, because it means it out-PS's bargain-basement ordinance platforms (which all, I note, start at PS 2) and is running Deadeye to boot. Without Deadeye, and possibly at PS2, the ship would be entirely fine. Even as a torpedo packer, because suddenly it has to play the 'get the target locks' game like the rest of us do.
