What's your favorite Star Wars game that's not a video game nor published by FFG?
For me it's hard to narrow down. Here are my favorites:
Star Wars Miniatures
Epic Duels

Only one I can think of is the old Star Wars CCG made by Decipher. It's the game that got me started in collectible gaming.
What? There are companies other than FFG that make board games?
j/k
For the longest time, my favorite board game was Star Wars Risk: Original Trilogy Edition. They did so many thematic things to bring Star Wars to life over the Risk engine. It was way more than just a thematic skin. There were three factions and each faction had their own win conditions. You could gain extra cards by controlling the Force (Empire/Rebellion) or controlling resource planets (Hutts). Your unit cards that you draw for taking systems had the option of being used to 1) buy units, 2) buy a starship to support your troops, or 3) for an effect written on the card. The effects felt thematic for each faction and the factions did not share effects. I still have a blast playing that game.
EDIT: I love your review of Clash of Lightsabers. I had never heard of that one before. I've considered getting the new Star Wars Risk, but I'm just not sure who would play it with me. My wife would rather play co-op. Maybe my daughters would go for it, but I think they'd rather play My Little Pony.
Edited by BudgernautThanks for reading it.
JJ48, we have a runing theme on our podcast when something is good. It's always "it's not as good as the Decipher CCG." since two of our hosts played that a bunch and love that game.
Original Trilogy Risk for me. Still have it. Still play it (some).
Anyone play Loopin' Chewie? That game is fantastic.

Same goes for me to!
Never did get into the decipher CCG back in the 90s. Only had enough money for Magic as it was.
Betrayal - Great drinking board game
Cards against humanity - Other best drinking game
Spartacus - Other other best drinking game
Do RPGs count? If so, West End Games Star Wars.

You may be drinking a little too much. This topic is about Star Wars tabletop games, just not made by FFG.
What about Assault on Hoth? It actually stands up pretty well as some light, but thematic fun:

Epic Duels
First reason I love it is because it's a Free-for-all Deathmatch, which is just crazy fun. Second reason I love it is because it's one of the few Star Wars games that exist, that allow more than 2 players / sides. Or rather, that are DESIGNED for more than 2 players. Every additional player you add, makes the game more and more interesting.
I wish FFG would make a truly multiplayer Star Wars game, maybe similar to Epic Duels.
