Future tournament kit ideas

By tgall, in Star Wars: Armada

So I was thinking the other day about potential new ideas for tournament kits.

Obviously we'll see the engineering token and no doubt other alt art cards, but under the subject of "boy that would be cool"....

I love the challenge coins, they are great, but what if first place was say a 3D version of the space station with the Champion / {spring|summer|fall|winter} XXXX on it?

Or even 3D asteroids....

How about acrylic obstacles?

How about a 1st prize special print mat? 3'x6' especially!

For those that haven't seen my super over size six sided die I use for a turn counter, something like that for a turn counter with an FFG / Armada logo would also make for a fun prize

Anyway ... I'm sure you creative lot would have some good ideas to add....

-laughs- I think I know that turn counter, something like that would be pretty great instead of the chits! That said, interesting idea on the acrylic obstacles. I'd like to see it happen. For a standard tournament I could see some semi transparent obstacle tokens instead of full proper 3D ones (though for worlds... maaaaybe). Otherwise they do like tokens the most: flagship markers, defense tokens, turn counters/markers/indicators to accompany the existing acrylic initiative tracker would be a good start to diverge from X-wing's previous offerings.

Hmm, what about some faction themed order dials?

It would be nice if they released one EPIC Tournament Kit including Energy Acrylic Tokens and an Acrylic Movement Template. Maybe some alt cards of small ships interating with HUGE ships in the background (Example: Y-Wing, X-Wing, Howl Runner, Roark)

Maybe have a blue red board/background with turns 1-6 and away you go....

Engineering Tokens?

I have a friend that uses this for his turn counter, with FFGs obsession with dials I never understood why we didn't get something similar to this rather than tokens.

Only theories were that FFGs obsession with tokens beat their one with dials or that when they went to print they were unsure if the turn limit might be upped with the points limit and therefore could just provide more turn tokens with the wave 2 ships.

Probably like printing a book, you have a limited number of pages to print on which is usually limited by budget.

In this instance though it would have been cardboard area, and the issue with just how much space that takes compared to 6 tokens.
