I hope they're tight so that you can shave it off for a close fit. If it's loose, your options are a little restricted.
That article for the colored bases and pegs reads like someone dared the copywriter to write the most dramatic article they could about plastic bases and pegs. Describing how one could use multicolored bases to enhance the fantasy of flying as Poe Dameron or Darth Vader was a nice touch.
This release makes Rebels way to OP. Where are the Black bases & pegs? How am I supposed to fly my Black, Onyx, Obsidian, Shadow and Black Eight Squadrons? I guess they just stay in the hanger bay.

Gotta leave something for the fans who enjoy painting their own bases and pegs.
Joe has it right, dark purple is an adequate substitute for black. I plan on buying a set of each color to have a rainbow coalition tie swarm.

No purple is not a substitute any more that Adv = Advanced.
With these new colors the Rebels are over powered. We need a buff to the Imperials.
I'm seeing a huge gap in support for scum colors. I see Poe Orange but where's Jabba Brown? I'm also not seeing support for any famous Mandelorian colors? I thought that FFG was trying to move away from Scum being forced to just comp Rebel content in order to create the illusion of a complete faction. Very disappointed...
While the colored bases are pretty nice, I thought there would be some discussion about how the X-Wing World Championship is going to be split into Day 1A and Day 1B followed by a Day 2 with 2 additional rounds and cut to Top 16. It looks like it will be a similar format for how most of the Opens were handled. Does this mean up to 600 slots available to get into Worlds? I sure hope so because I would like to have a chance to go again!
