FFG Behind the Scenes or Mark Hamill????

By Rogue Dakotan, in X-Wing Off-Topic

Hiya.

I'm going to be at Star Wars Celebration London next month with my wife for a delayed honeymoon of sorts.

Looking at the schedule of panels, there is an FFG Behind the Scenes panel, but it's at the same time as the Mark Hamill panel.

I'm quite torn.

On the one hand I want to be able to report the panel to all of you as it happens via The Jodo Cast twitter.

On the other hand I don't wanna bore my wife. Also I could go see Mark Hamill.

Anton Torres (Executive Projects Manager, Fantasy Flight Games), Alex Davy (Game Developer, Fantasy Flight Games), and Chris Gollaher (Sr. Manager, Lucasfilm Product Development) from the team who create the popular Fantasy Flight games, share a look at what goes into the making of the epic tabletop adventures.

See Mark Hammil

You might never get to see him again, you could get news about xwing anywhere anytime and no ones going to be interested in an anecdote at a party where you tell them you went to a seminar about toy spaceships... potentially meeting or talking to 'luke skywalker'

thats way cooler dude.

Go see FFG. You'll get to see mark Hamill in December of 2017 when you go watch Episode 8. then again when you see it your 2nd time. then again when you see it your 3rd time. Then again when....

It's more like my sense of duty to our podcast's followers and listeners vs seeing Mark lol.

I want to be able to do good reporting and coverage from the event since I doubt the FFG panel will be live streamed.

Im sure any of your podcast fans would get the idea that you have a real life too and your wife is with you.

Trust me 'behind the scenes' of a wargames industry wont be that exciting but them maybe i'm jaded because i worked in uk studio at GW for years (thats the white dwarf /events /promo material studio.. not the design one that everyone goes ape over)

very true. In any case I am going to try snag an interview with Alexy Davy as well as some of the players at the Coruscant open.

Couldn't you get someone to record the FFG thing so you could listen to it latter?

I saw the behind the scenes stuff at Celebration VII. There were a few interesting tidbits, but I think I'd see Mark Hamill instead. If you're an FFG fan, I think you already know most of the behind-the-scenes stuff.

See Mark Hamill. In twenty years, will you be more excited about maybe getting a scoop or significant insight into the hobby or seeing Hamill?

Personally, I'd rather see Hamill.

See Mark Hammil

You might never get to see him again,

2016 has been harsh enough...

Hamill!!

Ask if you can see his robotic hand.

Mark Hamill hands down. FFG will always be around. Mark Hamill will not. I so wanted to go to London to see Mark but been one of the poorest habitent in Sweden sucks. FML. Anyway, good luck and have fun.

Dude! Go see Mark Hamil! The Joker is awesome! :D

Go see hamill.

Should I go see one of the foundation-class icons that created the fandom that I am a part of, while I have the chance? Or should I go and attend some derivative thing that won't matter three weeks from now?

Dude, which of these makes you a more credible fan? I chose to see Mark Hamill in person, or I chose to not see Mark Hamill in person?

It's your life of course, but ... dude. Priorities. When your grandchildren are talking to you about Star Wars, (edit) do you want to be able to say that you saw the actor who portrayed Luke Skywalker in person, or to say that you had the opportunity but did something utterly forgettable?

Well you guys have convinced me. :) Glad you weren't all needy and wanted me to cover the panel. ;)

I'll only go to the FFG panel if I can't get into the Hamill Panel.

News from FFG will get leaked to us somehow. Glad you are going to see Mark Hammill.

We are expecting a live stream. With good audio. In HD. :D

If it helps .. leak Hamill news to us.

I'll be there and without doubt I'll be doing my best to see the Mark Hamill panel (although I expect the queues to be huuuuge so will be queuing up as soon as I get in).

I'd be surprised if the FFG thing didn't end up on Youtube for viewing later.
