The Move From Imp Aces To Miranda

By Jisforjets, in X-Wing Squad Lists

I have been playing a ton of three ship ace builds. Four ship Imp builds too.

I have found over the course of my playing that turrets would be amazing with the positional play I am constantly trying. I mostly arc dodge and reset positionaly, given that I am not taking nearly enough shots why not try Miranda?

What comprable Miranda plus 2 ship builds will let me keep playing for position while I take those arc dodging pot shots?

I really like Miranda with two defensive upgrades, but that leaves me on very few points in rebels. Miranda with c3pO TLT and shield is a monster late game ship, and a complete chore to burn down. I'm willing to learn how to maximize playing her vs scouts.

What are her favorite pals. I have played Miranda dash a fair bit and the combo is pretty strong. 42 Miranda and 58 Dash is probably the obvious build. With a PS 7 dash able to play an OK game vs defenders I think this is probably the go to build. I would really like to have 3 ships though.

Any thoughts?

Why not try a pair of T-70s, Red Squadron Veterans with Targeting Astromechs, IA and Crackshot? They'll always have access to red dice mods and are quite maneuverable.

I like the t70s in a bunch of different flavors. But I would definitely want one ace or Imp ace style ship. Maybe an Awing? Throwing 2 red dice at defenders is totally abysmal. Not sure which route to go.

Vcx.

I like two T-70 Red Squadron Veterans as well. Two of them with Crack Shot, R2 Astro, Int. Astro. and Miranda with TLT, Adv. Slam, and 3PO gives you four points to play around with. You could give Miranda a bomb, play around with astromechs, or give both T70's autothrusters.

I played a few games with a Warden Squadron K-wing with some bombs and Jan Ors, and two Red Vets with Juke, Comm Relay, R2 Astro, Int. Astro and it was pretty fun. It can really pack a punch. Swapping things around to include Miranda could be really nice!

Miranda with roark garnet, boosting whoever else you take or miranda, give roark the tlt, let miranda take autoblaster and trigger her ability for 3 unblockable(if you roll it)I use this with 3 z95s

You mean Jan ors, right ?

You tried a proton torpedo on Miranda instead of the shield upgrade? With long rang scanners or guidance chips and the ability to increase the attack up to 5 dice, I think this would make a nice opening shot.

You'll get really bored of just TLt Miranda really quickly

Give her a pair of seismics/thermals, though, and she becomes a wholly different beast. No positioning shenanigan is complete without the threat of rear peg bomb drops controlling your opponent's positioning

and I'm not exaggerating when I say she can basically solo a crackswarm by herself

Biggs is a great compliment to any rebel regenerator

Fill out with either Wes for the matchup or an advanced SLAM Conner warden for palp

This list has a good match up against aces and is also just an all around strong list if you can stretch out games and avoid jousting, I just beat a 2 U-boat + bumpmaster list with this last night without losing a ship by denying their actions and not letting them fire more then one torp a turn. This takes some practice but It's probably my favorite list at the moment.

Poe Dameron — T-70 X-Wing 31 - Veteran Instincts 1 - R5-P9 3 - Autothrusters 2 - Ship Total: 37

Gold Squadron Pilot — Y-Wing 18 - Twin Laser Turret 6 - R3-A2 2 - Ship Total: 26

Miranda Doni — K-Wing 29 - Twin Laser Turret 6 - Tactician 2 - Ship Total: 37

I would start by cutting the shield upgrade from Miranda. It is just not worth it on any ship, but especially on a 1 agility ship. Not even if it is a shield regenerator!

If the horn don' fit, you just throw VI Poe in instead

He (37/38), Miranda (even with bombs @ 41/42) leaves 20/21 points

That's an easy crackshot thruster greenie

I fly Miranda with TLT and Adv. SLAM. Wingmates are a trio of Rookie T65s. Hits really hard and forces that nasty choice of which threat is worse. Miranda late game or chase Miranda and let the T65s roam free.

Thinking about dropping the Adv Slam now for long range scanner and a seismic bomb now. Dash would be a good crew but alas... Never bought the ship and don't plan to do so.
