Star Wars Conquest Help

By jamester989, in Star Wars: Age of Rebellion RPG

Hello all, I'm currently creating a system in Star Wars: Age of Rebellion that would allow players to create their own faction and join in a three way fight against both the empire and rebellion for conquest of the galaxy! Now I know it sounds like a very complicated system to build, and it is, But i think it would make a super fun Campaign! The Idea is the PCs join up on an imperial world, where the empire has a small presence. The PCs would then agree to rise against the local imperial forces and destroy their presence on the planet.

For the actual conquering of the planet the empire and hutt forces would have between 5 and 10 structures or bases (Depending on a D10 roll) The players would have to destroy all said bases to capture the planet. Each time the players destroyed a structure, if they had the proper credits, they could build their own structure in its place.

My issue: The biggest issue I have is i need some sort of table for hiring or coming across mercenaries or others who may want to join the PC's uprising. This will give the PCs a steady supply of new recruits...

Secondly, I need some sort of formula for a large scale battle between two parties something like: Number of Troops X Weapons X Armor X Training X Misc. + Number of Vehicles x Weapons X armor + Number of starships X weapons X Armor + (ECT.)

I would be very happy if anyone could help solve those two issues, and once I'm done with the system for Planetary conquest in Age of Rebellion I will gladly release it to the community. Thank you -James

(Also My inspiration is from Star Wars empire at war, and Star wars battlefronts 1 and 2)

Mass battle rules are in Lead by Example and I think that the rules for recruiting are in Stongholds of Resistance

thanks

Options for building and upgrading a base is in Desperate Allies.

woah didn't realize so much of this stuff was set up already

I've read the Mass Combat rules in Lead by Example and it greatly simplifies things to be rolled, which also allows you to be freer to narrate the combat.

The base rules on the other hand are designed for small bases, nothing quite as large as Echo Base

I made statistics for custom bases, outposts, factories, space stations, ect.

I would love to see some more homebrew stuff in this thread. I'm in a game atm where the party has set up a droid manufactury on Geonosis and is about 3 months in to selling high end combat (special modification rules) models to pirates and other unsavory parties. We just had a mission to acquire an old vulture droid so we could disassemble and make a schematic to build new upgraded ones.(using librarians homebrew stats) As we returned we found out from one of the Geonosian Dukes we partner with that the empire is coming in force to Geonosia for unknown reasons in a few weeks and is likely to declare some variant of martial law. So we have to pack up and move our operations quickly. We are 1/2 way into a mission to capture a size 5 freighter ship with 10k encumbrance so we can move our factory elsewhere and we need to setup a base. We are very very very NOT rebels (running EOTE baseline game) and at this point were all wanted on about 10 planets and each person has 15-20 obligation. We have also started (as a joke mostly) using dark side destiny for the party and light side for our enemies since we have ended up fighting rebels, police, authorities, ex jedi, etc quite often. Anyway... i'm taking over GMing once the immediate storyline ends and I LOVE the idea of the party trying to set themselves up as an independent power. We have been aligned with the Huts (part of the racing team for Calso the Hutt and frequent procurers for his special eating preferences) and the old separatist powers (Duke Pimmock and a few other mid level leaders in other places I cant find names for atm).

Anyway - I expect to encounter alot of the same issues your running into and so far the released material doesn't really help much other than giving a loose guideline for DM hand-waviing and narration. I'll post whatever I end up coming up with when I eventually get to it :)
