New IG crew and the possibilities out there

Ig-88b plus gunner gives you three attacks if you can miss the first one.

Only if done in the right order and with the right ship. So ships that have passenger and cannon slot that leaves the Slave 1, the YV-666 and the Mist hunter's tractor beam.

First attack misses triggering B's ability (using the hypothetical IG-88 crew card) fires a cannon shot say tractor beam which also misses. That triggers Gunner who make a primary firepower attack and no more attacks are made this turn.

Are some of you under the assumption that the IG-88 pilot will gain the ability of the ship that the IG-88 crew is on?

Yes. Thinking it gives the ship he is on the IG2000 title. *fingers crossed*

Ig 88C strikes me as a crew I would opt to have on a kitted out Bossk, for Durability.

Arguably, the first miss triggers both IGB and Gunner, which the player who missed can choose to resolve in either order - they both have the same timing trigger...

Even if that was the case it wont be the same as with brobots. In brobots it is a 2-way street, both ships get the other ability. However with (hypothetical) IG-88 <crew> the ability goes from Aggressor to equipped ship. So say you put (hypothetical) IG-88 <crew> on Boba Fet<pilot> with IG-88B w/title. Sure Boba Fet will get the IG-88 B ability but IG-88 B will not get Boba Fet's ability.

However I still like this somewhat as it does allow single Aggressor lists to be viable. The title ability is so powerful you wouldn't take an Aggressor in any list unless it had another Aggressor. The crew will still not be as potent as the title but it will make the single Aggressor not lose so much of its potency going solo.

I think the prediction is it will be what ever the Agressor is so if a B is on the table then the crew will also be B and so on.

However this also has some interesting dynamics as the abilities while all fit the Aggressor doesn't all fit all of the scum ships. So first you will need a scum ship with a crew, that leaves only the following ships that have a crew slot (*not including wave 9 ships)

  • Firescum (Firespray-31)
  • Scumhawk (HWK-290)
  • YV-666
  • Mist Hunter
  • Jumpmaster 5000

However not all of the ships will be able to use every IG-88 pilot ability.

  1. A which was the pilot that was used the least in brobots has a unique posistion that its ability can work with any other ship.
  2. B only works with <cannon> slots so that is restricted to the Firescum, YV-666 and the tractor beam on the Mist Hunter
  3. C requires a boost, so which ship has (hypothetical)IG-88<crew> also has to have EU equipped at an additional 4 points.
  4. D requires a ship with both a <crew>slot and an S-loop so that would be the Jumpmaster 5000 and nothing else.

So even the crew card has found some restrictions in how it can and cannot be used.

It'll just be IG-88 of IG-88E

If it's one of the others then it restricts the combos.

I gotta think that Palob w/ Engine Upgrade and IG-88 C is really fun. You get a boost, free Evade, and you grab a Focus token! Combine it with something like Autoblaster Turret and you can try to get in close against people and do some unstoppable damage!

Any of them, but B are actually decent on Dengar. Even A is not a bad choice, especially with blaster bot R5-P8. Dengar is a jouster and will take damage, but he also dishes it out. This gives him a chance to get back a shield. Dengar likes Engine Upgrade anyways, so C is good. He does get shot at. D gives the funky S-loop, which Dengar can do. Makes him even more unpredictable.

IG-88 B on Moralo Eval isn't a bad pick. He gets to fire his cannon in aux arc and why not fire it twice? Yeah....you put Gunner on that ship and you can fire 3 times if you miss! Fire the first and trigger IG crew. Miss with that and trigger Gunner! Now, that will strip some tokens off someone. Of course, that's a lot of points to spend when you expect to miss twice.

IG-88 D explicitly states the speed 3 maneuver
