Is this playable at all? I'm still pretty green and playing casual. I don't have many expansions at the moment, but I would love to hear any and all suggestions you guys have. My main idea here was to keep Miranda and Biggs together, Biggs eating up the attacks while Miranda blasts with her turret.

Sabine Wren is worth looking at as crew instead of bombardier.

I'd also just put a 1pt astromech on Biggs along with Integrated Astromech. And then upgrade the A wing with the rest of the points. Can you get Tycho or Jake instead?

Or another ship with bombs.

Hm...with these changes and Jake, the point value goes up to 101. What is another ship with bombs I could sub in instead?

Y wing with the bomb loadout card, or a low PS K wing.

I haven't tried putting a full squad together here, it's a bit late for me, and you might have to reduce Miranda’s total too.

Possible squad: 100pts

PILOT: Miranda Doni 29
SHIP: K-wing
UPGRADES PTS
Extra Munitions 2
Conner Net 4
Ion Bombs 2
Twin Laser Turret 6
Sabine Wren 2
Advanced SLAM 2
Total Points: 47

PILOT: Biggs Darklighter 25
SHIP: X-wing
UPGRADES PTS
R4-D6 1
Integrated Astromech 0
Total Points: 26

PILOT: Jake Farrell 24
SHIP: A-wing
UPGRADES PTS
Veteran Instincts 1
Swarm Tactics 2
Chardaan Refit -2
Autothrusters 2
A-Wing Test Pilot 0
Total Points: 27

You could replace VI & Swarm Tactics on Jake with eg Push the Limit, if you wanted.

Or you could have

PILOT: Gold Squadron Pilot 18
SHIP: Y-wing
UPGRADES PTS
R2 Astromech 1
Bomb Loadout 0
Seismic Charges 2
Twin Laser Turret 6
Total Points: 27

Instead of Jake.

This would allow Sabine to do a bit more damage, but you'd need a Y-Wing.

I like Jake with better offense, especially since he doesn't have room for a prockets alpha. Perhaps pull the Ion Bombs and put PTL+Juke on Jake. Or pull AT and keep the bombs. Either way, I think Jake w/ Juke (say that a few times in a row) is a far better offensive option. Right now, I feel you aren't going to be able to put out the damage to take down something like a decimater or a ghost. Even a Palp shuttle will take a few turns to burn.

Do remember though with Miranda to use the opposite side of her ability when the enemy is R1. Spend the shield and get a 4 dice turret attack against them. It can absolutely be worth it.

I agree, however I don't know how attached the OP is to the precise Miranda build so I tried to keep it intact.

Plus it's funny to make Biggs PS9.

Thanks for the advice, guys! I was actually eyeing the Y-Wing as my next purchase, so I'll pick one up tomorrow at the store and try out both suggestions.

I'm really open to any changes to my original list, I just need to control my rate of purchasing expansions so my girlfriend doesn't kick me out... :D

Any tips for differences in positioning the A and Y? Only reason I ask is because I would like people to not be entirely frustrated with my inexperience when we play these next few weeks!

The Y is easy to fly. Put it where it's unlikely to hit any rocks, move forwards at speed 3 for 2 rounds. Chug around in circles using the 2 sharp, firing the turret, until something kills it.

A wings: zoom off at high speed, get shot at whilst a long way from your buddies, fly off even faster to get away from all the aggro and die in a cloud of fire when you think you've got away.

More seriously, try them out and see which you prefer. Making mistakes means that you learn quicker than listening to internet advice.

The X wing is the one I find harder to fly than either of these. We have a standard joke about X wings 'going on holiday' when they end up flying in circles a long way from the enemies.

I ended up flying Miranda, Biggs, and Jake. It actually went pretty well for the most part! I flew and dodged well in the A, and Miranda made good use of her Connor Nets and TLT. The thing I learned the most is that the X-Wing dial is awful. Not even sure if it's worth flying! Holiday is right. Holiday and get destroyed.

Thanks for the input guys! Going to try out the Y next time.

An X-Wing with boost is a lot more manoeuvrable, but it's still annoying to fly.

Anyway, glad you had fun.
