YV-666 list threads, please

By Rinzler in a Tie, in X-Wing Squad Lists

I've looked and failed miserably to find threads/lists with two YV-666s. I blame the search function, shamelessly...

With the stellar new Scum crew out, these ships are not seeing enough time in competitive play (my opinion).

Here is all I could manage for 99 points - thus why I need help:

YV-666: · Bossk (35)

Crack Shot (1)

"Mangler" Cannon (4)

· Zuckuss (1)

· Dengar (3)

Tactician (2)

YV-666: · Moralo Eval (34)

Heavy Laser Cannon (7)

Gunner (5)

K4 Security Droid (3)

Mercenary Copilot (2)

Feedback Array (2)

I flew the below with a 56 point Dengar, it hits like a truck, and loves aces (with the 4-LOM/Zuckuss)

Bossk

Adaptability

Mangler Cannon

4-LOM

Zuckuss

K4-Security Droid

Total - 44

My favourite 666 build is:

Trandoshan Slaver (29)

-Greedo (1)

-Feedback Array (2)

Its cheap and does his dirty work late in round when most of the defence tricks are already spend. This helps Greedo to kick his Crit in.

Many opponents ignores him cause there are usually more interesting targets around, 666 can take punishment and on a first glance he does not look too intimidating.

How about 3?

Trandoshan Slaver (29):

  • Bossk (2)
  • Gunner (5)

Total: 36 pts

Trandoshan Slaver (29):

  • Dengar (3)
  • 4-LOM (1)
  • Zuckuss (1)

Total: 34 pts

Trandoshan Slaver (29):

  • Greedo (1)

Total: 30 pts

36 HP behind two extremely accurate guns and a critter. Not even U-Boats can chew through that easily.

Favorite suggestion yet lol but another LBS isn't in my future. Imp. Vets is, though..

Love these builds. Keep em coming.

You can replace one of them with Torkil, to smoke something out before it even fires, or Palob, to counter the meta.

TLT and your choice of crew with a Feedback Array should cover whatever the Slavers don't burn.

This is my current favorite Scum List

Tradoshan Slaver (36)

- Gunner

- Bossk

Trandoshan Slaver (33)

- Zuckuss

- Dengar

Trandoshan Slaver (31)

- Greedo

- Boba Fett

To my mind the basic YV-666 comes in two flavours:

Dengar/Zuckus/4-LOM

Bossk/Gunner/Tactician

Both just don't care about stress particularly and are both vicious against aces.

After that, Latts with Weapon Engineer and K4 can be an ok support ship but I don't think it's much of a comparison to the above builds.

Moralo can be built with a HLC or either of the above builds (I like Dengar/Zuckuss/4-LOM). It's definitely more effective against aces, even more so if you can feed him focuses when stressed (glitterstimm, manaroo, etc). But it's also a lot more expensive.

Bossk is the only one with an EPT so there are some merits there. Bossk with VI and Dengar/Zuckuss/4-LOM can get the shot in first. I'm skeptical that it's worth the additional cost though. Cheap and cheerful for the bounty hunter fun bus!

Latts with K4/Dengar is a solid standalone attacker, also.

And a party bus is better off on a Slaver. But Bossk has other merits, like Daredevil/Engine Upgrade.

Bossk with Calculation & Dengar is something Im looking to try out.

2x Slaver with Tactician

1 x Slaver

It really is good. This wrecked the shop at a small tournament. Palp aces and toilet seats alike. It was fun to watch. Most of the games were close affairs but man it was great to watch such a simple list just roll.

Was there more to the list or was it just 91 points?

Either way, I really like the triple Slaver idea. Not sure if I like K Genesis' version or Democratus' version more, but it's definitely something I'll keep in mind. Tacticians on multiple ships seem like a lot of fun too.

I love these two lists - what do you do with the remaining 28 points?

I was thinking Palob+TLT+Tactician or..?

Tried this in my most recent battle:

Trandoshan Slaver (38)

- Gunner, Bossk, Feedback Array

Contracted Scout (35)

- Deadeye, Extra Munitions, Proton Torps., Boba Fett, R4 Agromech, Guidance Chips

Torkhil Mux (27)

- TLT, Zuckuss, Inertial Dampeners

Torkhil ended up as the MVP in this battle. He was trailing a massive cloud of stress tokens. But Zuckuss really made his TLTs work overtime. And his ability allowed him to reduce enemy aces to PS 0 at critical moments.

In our group we had a guy flying:

2xSlaver

Boba +VI, Glitters

he won some tournaments with that.

Trandoshan Slaver + K4 Security Droid + Zuckuss + 4-LOM (34)

Trandoshan Slaver + Bossk + Gunner + Tactician (38)

Torkhil Mux + Twin Laser Turret + Dengar (28)

With the change of FAQ you do not believe that it is essential to use the combination GONK+EI?

Probably still not worth it on the YV-666. You're paying 5 points for a shield a turn on a 1 agility ship, at the cost of a stress that you have to clear each turn and no action. Perhaps on a slaver with Bossk and Gunner or with Latts with Weapon Engineer and K4 but overall I prefer not to tie the YV666 to green maneuvers anyway.

With the change of FAQ you do not believe that it is essential to use the combination GONK+EI?

I think a successful Slaver needs to ignore actions.. It's hard to maneuver those things as it is. But, to work it in I'd try this with a Squad Leader side-kick:

YV-666: Trandoshan Slaver (29)

· Experimental Interface (3)

· "Gonk" (2)

Tactician (2)

Gunner (5)

Played this today and really liked it. I don't think it will win tournaments but there's more to life than that..

YV-666: Trandoshan Slaver (29)

· Dengar (3)

· Zuckuss (1)

Inertial Dampeners (1)

Z-95 Headhunter: Binayre Pirate (12)

You've got one more point for a 4-LOM, Fett, etc. and the list has the major food groups:

- Ace counter

- Lots of hull/shields

- Blockers

- Lots of red dice

Cons: No green dice or green dice modification to speak of. So hit hard and fast or gtfo.

I think that's pretty solid actually. It might well win tournaments - it has the tools to deal with aces. Two blockers and two ace-killers. U-boats might be an issue, but with the nerf to R4, we might see less of them.

I'd really, really like to see 4-LOM on the first one, but you can easily drop dampeners on one of them for him. And I think Glitterstimm on the Dengar party bus might be key for one important turn. Drop both dampeners and I think you can afford 4-LOM and glitterstimm?

Boosk

  • Crack Shot
  • Homing Missle
  • Mangler Cannon
  • Guidance Chips
  • K4 Security Droid
  • 4 Lom
  • Boba Fett
  • Glitterstim

Latts Razzi

  • Counter Measures
  • Weapons Engineer
  • K4 Security Droid
  • Dengar
  • Glitterstim

So this list is optimized so Boosks first homing missile shot will destroy most aces. For example against Fel with stealth device he would have 4 agility -1 from Latts, On average homing missiles will hit for 5 including 1 crit so 6 hits(Boosk). No evade tokens can be used and crack shot will reduce max evades to 2 so 4 damage. That's one dead Fel even Vader is close to being dead. However if any survive and get behind you that's the game. But if you can turtle so they cant get behind there is potential. This list is not set in stone but the basic principle is there.

Definitely potent. I've toyed with a similar Bossk but with Eval and an HLC. He tails Bossk and prevents Aces from getting in behind.

Personally, I don't see it doing well against much else, minus the occasional Imp Aces match-up where it goes "according to plan". The YV's dial is crippling - you need at least one other trick in the list. To squeeze that in, I've found you can't afford anything above Slaver.

I had great results with this list; I call it "The Wall of Pain":

Trandoshan Slaver

Dengar

Gonk

Trandoshan Slaver

K4

Zuckuss

Contracted Scout

Deadeye

Proton torp

Extra M

Guidance Chips

Overclocked R4

Your K4 slaver will basically slow-roll greens throughout, since he doesn't care about actions thanks to the crew. The Dengar slaver is for backup/endgame. And the Scout does what a boat scout does best: dish out pain.

It's not necessarily top-tier competitive, but it is HELLA fun and I love playing the YV666, so naturally playing 2 is always better...

How about something along the lines of:

Jumpmaster 5000: •Tel Trevura (51)
•Experimental Interface (3)
•Punishing One (12)
Wired (1)
•"Gonk" (2)
•R5-P8 (3)

YV-666: •Bossk (47)
Guidance Chips (0)
Crack Shot (1)
Concussion Missiles (4)
•4-LOM (1)
•Zuckuss (1)
•Dengar (3)
Feedback Array (2)

Total: 98/100

Bossk brings a pretty hefty alpha strike between his ability, chips, dengar and consussion's modification has a decent chance of getting 5 hits in. Then 4-LOM, Zuckuss and crackshot can help push the damage.

Tel Trevura can be a bit of a tank with the FAQ to Gonk, which now combos nicely with EI. I'm thinking wired because you are going to be stressed alot but there are a couple of other EPTs that might work as well (maybe even expose for the situations where enemy ships can't get arc on you, taking primary up to 4 and still being able to get a target lock/focus with EI, although this would involve dropping something).

I can imagine this being decent against aces. U-boats etc will probably chew it up though.
