Regional happiness

By Jondavies72, in Star Wars: Armada

Just got back from the Cardiff regionals. Had a great time..... Not had a whole day of armada since the store championships a few months ago.

It was great to see loads of different lists and no specific meta, it was great fun. first game was a hard slog against a beautifully painted double motti ids list, such a resilient list and it reminded me what a pain a well played mauler can be.second game I got beaten into a pulp by a rebel ackbar assault frigate and CR90s list, a classic bit of play by my opponent reminded my how much I loved theses ship when I used them for store champs. Third game was against a four ship imp scree list, a bit of luck, hiding all my raiders at the ends of the board, and a nice second player mission gave me the win I needed t scrap 8th place, there was 5 mov difference between 8th and 9th place ( which is the closest I've ever seen).

A great day out, thanks to firestorm games and all the other players........

Glad you enjoyed. Now go get some more games in!

I would love to get at least one game a week, but WCW ( wife, children, work) always take priority.

It was an excellent day! Congratulations Jon on a great win.

Personally I had a great day, 10-0 my first game then an unbelievably tense game against this forums own Plagueis on table one in which he ultimately got the better of me. (If you see this and you're ever in the area looking for a game give me a shout!).

Looking forward to more of the same from everyone involved.

This was my first major armada tournament and I was blown away by how friendly, gracious and fun the community is, there was none of the edginess you see at x wing or other tournaments.

Just a load of people with a mutual love of a game having fun and helping each other.

Bravo to all involved, great games and a great community that I'm proud to be part of.

Was a very good day and some fab games run, very happy my brother slipped into 8th after all it ment I did not have to give him my second set of dice ;)... The 3 games I played were all very enjoyable as they were relaxed games in which time was given like it should be to think over movements and dice rolls.. I know I can be a slow player, I think me and Garro where already over a hour before turn two, due to setup time and trying to out think each other. intruth Armada was designed to make you think and as you only have the six turns its very important to plan ahead. Looking at all the different lists around I think it shows how healthy the game was. The only thing I found disappointing is how badly FFG have handled the bye issue with different events running eight and others nine. Now time to start working on a new list ready for August as I'm feeling a need to breakout my Villans to play with.
