Need help and sugestions on playing online

By Nightmaster, in Game Masters

Hi guys.

I am here because I have started a PBeM game of Star Wars using the EOTE system. So far there was no combat and I have been making the skill rolls for my players, but soon in the campaign there will be combat and I need a way to run combats in a grid and keep a log of attack rolls and skill rolls. A friend of mine sugested Roll20 but the suport for the EOTE system is a paid one.

I am looking for sugestions other than Roll20 to run a combat online with all the features I mentioned.

Hope you guys can help me with that.

Use Roll20 with the Google hangouts dice roller. Not as convenient as all in roll20, but it's all free. Use the roll20 plugin for visuals, and the die roller for dice.

http://orokos.com/ is free, but requires an account.

Thanks it works really fine.

How did you posted the roll in the forums?

Do the Google handouts keep track of the dice rolls?

I run 2 groups with friends online. I only use Google Hangouts and the EotE dice roller beta. If you've created your own maps you can simply screen share the map to your players. The dice roller does keep track of all rolls made until you disconnect from the chat.

Do the Google handouts keep track of the dice rolls?

Yes, they sure do! I play remotely with my group and we use hangouts + the eote dice roller, works great.

When you use the Orokos dice roller, one of the things it gives you is the BBCode you can use to cut-n-paste that kind of stuff into your forum posts.

That is one of the cooler things about their roller. I’m in a Roll20 game, and when the custom Roll20 dice roller we normally use is out of commission, we use Orokos. And we use Orokos any time we want/need to make any posts to the Roll20 forum for things we need to do between actual games.

It’s not the only option out there, but it is a good one.
