Which of the green side missions to select

By Mace Windu, in Imperial Assault Campaign

So I have just begun a campaign with some friends, the first for all of us though I have familiarised myself with the game in depth so am running as the imperial player. Coincidentally as our first (and only so far) side mission we pulled 2 Red hero side missions to start with.

It did occur to me though that later on the green side missions are not the best in the core set.

What I wanted to know was what the best Green missions are to play? I have all the A&V packs through wave 5 (no Bespin in my country yet) so I was wondering 2 things:

Which are the best Green missions to play in terms of viable ally's to bring on a mission? 3 of the 4 green missions that come in the core are not worth their reward (Luke, Han & Chewy offer to much threat to the imperial player)

That leaves me with Rebel Sabs + 3 others and I was thinking Alliance smuggler and R2 & C3PO + 1 more for cheap units that don’t offer too much threat to the imperial player (maybe Rebel troopers).

Conversely it may be better to add the 4 "easiest" Green side missions to give the new players a leg-up without me having to play sub optimally so that it's not a blowout in favour of the Imps.

So my question is what are the 4 easiest missions and what are the 4 best Ally reward Missions

Thanks

Generally good in my opinion are:

* Lando (which you don't have, as he is Wave 6)

* Leia

* Luke

Good if you meet some criteria:

* Rebel Troopers (with Gideon)

* R2-D2 & C-3PO (with Twin Shadows and Return to Hoth missions)

* Echo Base Troopers (with Return to Hoth missions)

* Alliance Smuggler (with Return to Hoth missions or with Davith Elso)

Bad overall:

* Han

* Chewie

* Saboteurs (after the nerf)

* Wookies

I'd take as many of the good ones and

I'd argue Chewie is really potent in campaign, the rebels got him first side mission and he basically rampaged through the campaign, kept next to players to provide the protection and forced me to take him out first. The amount of threat was negated a bit by them being able to skill up a lot by winning the first 5 missions because of chewie

I don't have the wookiees yet. Why are they so bad?

Too slow and too prone to stun (because they are the only rebel melee ally so far ... until obi-wan of course).

Smuggler is far and away your best choice. At 2 points he isn't giving the Imperials much to screw you with and he can make up his points pretty often. If you do the side mission that reduces the cost of allies by 2, he's free!

If you're playing Hoth then Echo Base Troopers as this will allow you to use the good elite version assuming you win the first story mission.

If you're playing Gideon then Allied Troopers as this will allow you to use the good elite version if you win his side mission as well.

Leia is solid. If you're playing Murne then she's crazy strong for 4 points. If you also do the side mission for -2 cost she's insane for 2 points.

R2/C3PO because they're cheap.

Lando is okay at 6 points but will rarely be worth the free squad of stormtropers you're giving the Imperials. However if you have cost reduces like Leia he can be pretty awesome.

:blink: Murne and Lando! Must not allow my opponent to know about this. ;)

We've always gotten a lot of use out of Luke. The free attack re-rolls help make damage really consistent. The threat hurts, but he easily makes up for it.
