How realistic the specific date is or not - it does tell us at least one thing that we didn't specifically know before.
That is - FFG intends the HotR expansion to be released simultaneously with wave 9. That's legit new information.

Yup definitely the bases and pegs.
That falls in line with Last year actually. If I recall, their was a pre-release at GenCon, and the Wave dropped at the end of September. It gave those lucky few who attended Gencon almost 2 months to hock their wares on Ebay and to sell the ships at HUGELY inflated prices before the Wave dropped in stores. Expect the same this year.

The date listed there is the last day they can be preordered. Preorders are open now. FFG now has a standardized release schedule schedule, releasing products on Thursdays. 9-28 is a Wednesday, so we could get the ships on 9-29.

I mean, pretty safe to assume that you won't get it day 1 if you put in your order the day before. The ships usually come in 2-3 waves close together. Mostly day 1, with follow up restock shortly after.
