Local X-Wing in Canada?

By ChewfalconSolo, in X-Wing Organized Play

Hey guys,

Being a Canadian resident. I'm not totally sure if there is any Organized play, or stores that support the game in any way shape or form.

I'm an Ontario resident close to the Toronto area. Anything out there for me to sink my teeth into?

There's tons in the area. There's a Facebook group that's great if you're into the f-book. Sadly, I am not so please inform me what's going on.

Also, Docking Bay 416 is ok. The event calendar is not as current as it once was. Still great for the weekly casuals.

Which end are you on? West or East? Im out on the west end of the GTA myself.

I'm in Brampton. Not sure which end that is. But fairly close enough to places. What facebook group was that? Do you recall the name?

I'll also have to look up Docking Bay 416. Is that a store? Or the name of the tournament?

Don't know it but it is posted on here somewhere. Somebody is sure to post it here eventually.

Docking Bay 416 is a website only. Articles, tips, event calendar and famously the home to the Heroes of the Aturi Cluster fan expansion for coop campaign play.

And we will call Brampton North-west. There's stuff around. Dixie-Matheson in Mississauga isn't far, has a great play area and Monday night Xwing. There's also a game shop in the Bramalea mall that has prices on par with Meeplemart and 401 games. Makes sure you hit the right store as there are two, but one has more stock and cheaper prices.

I'm way out in Milton. So a bit down the highway from you.

Yeah. Game Shack is where I got most if my ships from. So it was great to see that that Brampton even had anything.

Dixie and Matheson huh? Is that the name of the store? Or the intersection? I'm interested in actually playing a game with someone. Seeing as I've only been play testing solo lately.

Thanks for all the info!

Oops, sorry. Name of the store at Dixie-Matheson is X-Planet Games.

I don't know any place in Brampton with game space, but I'm sure there's something. I like X-Planet myself and am attempting to start going again starting Monday.

Cool man! I'll have to see if at some point I can get myself out there. Not having a car kinda sucks. Public Transportation isn't maneuverable either.

But I will have to check it out!

At Dueling Grounds (Brock St and Bloor West) they have X-Wing tournys 3 Sundays a month. There is also a league called the Prototype Toronto League where you can play at different locations on different days to suit your schedule. Info for that can be found at the Dockingbay416.com site.

Cheers,
Allan

Hey Kardek, I've fallen off the schedule for Dueling Grounds Sunday tournys and these aren't marked on DBay416 any more... When's the next one? Last time I called the store the gave me the date for a Wednesday.

There is one this Sunday according to their schedule but there is a MTG PPTQ happening as well. The next one after that is July 10 http://www.dueling-grounds.com/#!event-schedule/c18bc

Not sure about the Wed. info you were given. I know at 401 Weds are league days there.

Yeah, the Wednesday date was just odd. For obvious reasons I did not make the long trek into Toronto to find out if it was legit or not. No promises I'll make a tournament any time soon, but I'll try to track them a bit better. Weekends are filling up on me. Thank you for the calendar link.

And due to an error my wife needs to go into Toronto tomorrow so I'll be heading to Dueling Grounds. We'll see if anyone shows after regionals today.

Comic Warehouse in Brampton does a monthly tournament on the last Sunday of each month (this month they were swapped with Warhammer for the Father's Day event). As far as regular league/weekly play, X Planet as mentioned above is one spot. We also have a good crew every week in Georgetown at the Hooded Goblin if that is closer to you.
