Surviving the swarm only to earn a draw later on

By Cgriffith, in X-Wing Battle Reports

First, let me say this place is a great resource of knowledgable gamers. I'm new to the game and am very limited with ships currently

So I had the following - T-70 XWING (Poe) and XWING Wedge both equipped with proton Torpedoes and R5 - X3/ BB-8 combo

My opponent - TIE Advanced with Darth Vader (Concussion Missiles & Marksmanship) and 2 x FO TIEs ( Omega Leader was in one I don't remember the other)

Anyway I had the previous matches been getting killed quickly but this match I was the aggressor singling on Vader out and punishing his haul. After a while I eliminated both TIEs by using my proton torpedoes in tandem. This happened in two consecutive turns as I survived brutal attacks thanks to the dice gods rolling 3 evades in two consecutive turns.

After destroying both FO TIEs my shields were gone and I could only take 1 more damage to Poe and Wedge equally I did a stressed k turn with both and had Vader in the cross hairs. Vader killed Wedge but on the next turn the simaltaneous attack occur and both Vader and Poe were killed in the same turn so it ended in a draw.

****, that's brutal.

I love it when these things happen! In the last round of my first tournament I had Wedge and a B-Wing on the table vs Whisper and a Doom Shuttle, with everything heavily damaged. Wedge blanked the killing shot on the shuttle, which committed suicide to Vader my blue, which due to simultaneous fire managed to plink that last damage on an uncloaked whisper with no shot. Over 90 points worth of ships died that turn and it was awesome.
