New Adversary Decks!

By Absol197, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

Yes! I've been hoping for critters! I find these decks extremely useful, so I'll be getting them all.

I love it.

I've been itching to get the adv. decks anyway, but they're perpetually sold out over here.

Maybe I can get my hands on these in the meantime.

Now the big question: do I count this as a new announcement for my charts and such?

Answer: No. No I don't. But unlike the TFA Beginner Box, I'm actually semi-excited about this one!

EDIT: Also, unless it's a mistake, the site is showing them as already available for purchase! Holy carp, what a turn-around time! Is that normal? I didn't pay attention to the other adversary decks, which I am paying for now.

I've eschewed decks thus far, but Adversary ones in particular are handy so I might just have to pick these and the older ones up.

Given how useful I've found the initial three Adversary decks, I'll certainly be picking these up, and probably a second set as Christmas present to a fellow GM who's found great use out of the Adversary decks I got her for last Christmas.

Yay! Now I have to see if they’re already available at MiniatureMarket!

I think they print their own cards.

I think they’re actually print-on-demand. But I don’t know who they use to provide that service. I do think that it is provided out of the US, however.

These are available immediately because FFG makes them in their POD facility in the US. It's the same place they print all their tournament kit promos for X-Wing and the LCGs and such. They generally don't mention them until they are for sale.

The cardstock is a little different than normal gaming cards - it's a little stiffer. I suspect it wouldn't hold up well to repeated shuffling, especially without sleeves, but it is perfect for reference cards and other things like this.

I'm totally excited about these - the first three adversary decks are super useful and three more are very welcome! The creatures deck should be particularly helpful for those folks playing things like Pathfinders or Beast Riders. I'll be grabbing them all very soon.

Now I just wish they would do some with starships and vehicles.

Okay, well that answers that question!

Now to order all the decks. I'll probably only use one or two, but...obsessive-compulsive completionism and all that. Plus the art is pretty, even if I've already seen most of the pictures in the source books.

My only complaint about these is that they weren't announced last week. I ordered the Warhammer Quest decks from them last Friday.

Any chance they'll reprint the previous set?

I, for one, love the three adversary decks. These will be a welcome addition to my ever expanding collection of FFG products.

From the "Its about **** time!" department.

Of course I thought the subject line said "new adversary DALEKS", and I thought 'well, duh - they're Daleks. Of course they're adversaries!' quickly followed by 'wait, what are Daleks doing in Star Wars'.

I need to get out more.

They are POD. You can order them any time you want and they are always "in stock" at FFG. If someone is telling you the old decks are out of print, it's possible a given store or even given distributor may not want to stock them, but they are not out of print. You may have to call around or order them direct from FFG though if you're having trouble finding them.

Yeah, I thought about doing the song and dance of trying to get the decks for slightly cheaper from Mini Market or CSI - and then said, "aw, screw it. Lets go for speed instead of 'we'll get it soon'" and went right to the source.

They shut up and took my money. (I just ordered all eight decks.)

Ive been waiting for something like this we have 2 GMs in my group I bought the first three when they were easy to get in the UK , since the 2nd Gm came along cannot buy them ,but this gives me an excuse to do a bulk buy of 9, 3 of the new sets for me and a set of 6 for the other GM

I need to get out more.

You don't know. Safety first!

Luke should sue Disney. There were no signs on Dagobah saying that a dragonsnake might drag his little droid under.

So, this is my first time getting something straight from FFG. What's the turn around time from order to ship to doorstep?

Last time I tried it was pretty expedient, but the shipping was always the killer for me. I don't know how well they do of late.

It of course depends on your location. I'm in Virginia. I ordered the WHQ decks last Friday, they shipped Monday and arrived Wednesday. That was USPS First class mail.

Okay, since I'm about as far away from them as you can get and still be on the continental United States, they'll probably go out Monday and be in my hands before the next weekend.

Yeah, it's print on demand, but if they don't have a stock already on hand for a brand new product then the warehouse manager is a fool!
