First wave I've seen announced since I started playing. I can't stop thinking about TIE/sf's... Quickdraw in particular seems like he'll (is it a he?) be so fun to play... Already building squadrons with him... Am I doomed?

I have enough ships to play, enough squads to test, that it doesn't really bother me at all. Sometimes I build squads with the unreleased stuff....some times I print my own cards off from the spoiled material to use in casual games. Generally speaking though, I'm pretty patient with this game...surprisingly.

I think I enjoy opening the box, sleeving, and all that stuff more...

Sometimes I'll go back and read announcement and preview articles for previous waves that have already been released. This gets me excited to try those ships out again and gives me that hit of playing with ships that have been teased. It makes it easier for me to bear the wait. But with the most recent announcements from Imperial Veterans forward, I haven't been too interested in them so the wait has been easier.

I drink beer, get on with life and generally try to remember that X-Wing is just a game.

By playing games with the toys I have and not thinking about the toys I don't have.

There's always something in each wave that gets you excited, which should be a credit to FFG and the game itself.

However, you should always have 8+ waves worth of stuff that hopefully still gets you excited as well...

I endured the Wave 2 delay and subsequent drought. This is nothing.

It won't bug me until its weeks late of when we think it would be available.

Then...

I'll spend my money elsewhere and realise I dont need the while wave anyways. Just a ship or two.

@OP:

Get a copy of Imperial Veterans, run upgraded Defenders, and never think of the TIE/sf again (at least until you see it on store shelves).

This. I act like an adult and get on with other things.

I try to focus on the meta-game and upping my post count.

These waits are nothing. When I was a young man, I wanted and hoped a certain Sega Genesis game would be localized from Japan. 21 years later, boom! I'm playing Monster World IV on my Wii! 6 months? I think I can hold my breath that long.

Generally; I don't think about the new toys until I have them. I play x-Wing with whats available. O play another game. Or go to the pub. Or watch movies. Or eat. Or....

You get the idea. New toys are exciting but FFG has a history of being late on their own deadlines so I just enjoy what I do have without getting too bothered.

How do I deal with the wait? I go back and play with the numpty pilots I haven't tried from previous expansions I've already bought. And try to figure out how to store new ships. And think up excuses to tell my wife.
