Piscopas's Paint Log

By Piscopas, in X-Wing Painting and Modification

Hello, everyone.

Just recently switched over from Attack Wing. Picked up both the starters and an extra T65. I want to make my flights/squadrons a little unique, but don't want to do full repaints (I've got plenty to paint from other games! Haha). Here is my first attempt at a re-paint/touch-up.

Say hello to Orange 3.

Thanks for taking a look!

Nice and simple, looks great. ;)

Blue and Orange always works.. GULF colours!!!!

It ain't fancy, but here's Orange Leader:

I probably could have been a little neater on the panel struts, but I'm too lazy to go back and repaint them. Haha. Lesson learned for my next TIE repaint.

Here's my first full repaint on a Rebel ship. I haven't decided on a Squadron name, but most of my Rebels will be variations on this theme.

Every part of this is top notch. From the asymmetrical bands on the wings, to the cockpit glass and the R2 on top.

Excellent work!

After the first post I was thinking, yeah that's attainable

Then I was all nope ...

For a squadron name, may I suggest "Avocado Group"?

Being from California, it's something I see most every day.

Or maybe I'm just ready for lunch.

Haha! That's an interesting suggestion, but....Hey! Is that a sandwich?!

I'm leaning towards Viridian Group/Squadron.

Nice! I really like what you've done so far!

Really diggin that t-65. Nicely done.

:) Glad to see someone else who can't resist blue jeweling cockpits.

Great job.

Viridian Squadron sounds pretty cool. Good stuff!

Another quiet afternoon in the study, another painted ship! I repainted the Interceptor because the blue color did not match the lighter grey of my TIEs.

Looking good. Like the "blood stripe" pattern(for lack of a better term) you chose on the panels.

Orange Leader looking sharp!

Gotta keep our ships consistent.

I like the blue tinting on the cockpit as well.

What paint/color did you use to match the light grey and did you strip it first?

Also like the marking on the interceptor.

I use Citadel paints because they're easiest for me to get locally. I used the Base paint called Celestra Gray, gave it a wash with Nuln Oil, and then highlighted the raised areas with straight Celestra Gray again. Easy Peasy.

I did not strip the mini first...I just hit it with a thin coat of black spray primer.

Another one down! I know I'm not as good a painter as some, but I'm just aiming for them to look good on the tabletop. It's a shame I won't have time to get my Y-wing done before I go down to the shop tomorrow.

VERY cool! This A is Aces.

You need to post a group pic when they're all done.

Done?! I didn't think that was possible with X-wing. There are always more ships to buy!

In a few hours I will be doing my best to convince you to purchase everything PSC has to offer, haha! (No, I don't make commission.)

I'm going to try out your painting style on a miniature and hopefully it'll turn out as good as what you did!

Just saw them in person and they are all very good. I especially like the Interceptor, and the matching squadron paint-jobs of the X- and A-Wings.

Awesome! Hope it turns out well for you!
