Small product fault on core set - what to do?

By Chimpy, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

I very recently bought the base set of the game from my local FLGS, after being impressed with a friend's copy with the RtL app.

On unboxing and popping out the tiles and tokens, I noticed a thin white streak going over one of the sprues. It went over some of the objective tokens. This means I can tell which one it is when its turned over. If the mark had been on a non-secret token it wouldn't have mattered.

Does anyone know if I can get a replacement for the affected tokens? I'm in the UK.

If you mail photo's with the tokens and the proof of purchase, you might have a shot.

Edit: this fault makes a lot of quests almost unplayable unless you make your own replacement tokens so I think it is reasonable that FFG complies.

If you have proof of purchase token, invoice or other document proving when you got the stuff from certain seller it should not be a problem to get new sprue. My friend got one side of the map tiles sprue blank- he returned it to shop untouched and they got him new one within a week.

FFG have always been great at sending out replacements in my experience, although I don't know what they're like now Asmodee are in charge. Looks like you use this form now: http://parts.asmodeena.com/

I think asmodee only replaces miniatures, but I may be wrong.

I just recently bought my own copy of Descent, and I got a duplicate but broken Avric Albright (missing the shield arm) and missing Jain Fairwood. I emailed a photo and Asmodee sent me a Jain mini free of charge. So my experience with asmodee replacements is good so far.

I can say that FFG is surprisingly good at helping you with those things. In my Core, an ettin was broken, a Cave Spider was missing, and something else minor that I don't remember - it took a while for the replacement to reach me, but FFG sent it out no questions asked (obviously, I had already provided my receip from the store, all the info, and pictures of the damaged stuff).

FFG is sometimes hit-and-miss on some things, but I've only heard good things about their quality assurance support.

Also while you are waiting for your replacements, the misprint shouldn't matter if you are playing RtL.

Thanks for the responses. I used the Asmodee parts site and sent off the details of the defect and a photo. Hopefully it will get rectified.

Does Road to Legend not use objective tokens?

Yes but rarely. It mostly relies on search tokens.

It uses them but you don't have to randomize them because the app does that for you if necessary. Instead of looking for say the white token you instead select the token on the screen and the app will tell you what happens.
