Man I am getting excited to be taking ownership of my fleet of wave 3 ships.
I am looking for the status of thing daily and hope with each day we go from on the boat to shipping.

Yea! We are still looking at next MI th high likely towards the end of it.
I have 3 of each on previous order and I am trying to figure out where I will store them. . .
Yup, wave 2 has been great, but I've tried and played against just about everything it has to offer. I'm excited to see something new

Really? I have about 50+ wave 2 games in and I don't think I have faced more than 2/3rds of what is out there. Maybe even less.
I'm torn... I want new stuff, I'm just not 100% sure I'll really use a lot of the flotillas however. I don't think they're any more "mandatory" than any other packs coming before them.
Now Wave 4, I'm so ready to run out of room in my boxes storing them.
@Ly: Mate, perception trumps truth.
I have played a good number of games between Wave 2 and now, I have 20+ lists in my folder of "lists I would like to play but haven't yet" and I have a complete nut case of an opponent who will try 5 x VSD's or 5 AF's or 3xVSD's and 15 TIE Fighters just for kicks.
But boy oh boy, just the though of some new stuff has a smile on my dial.
We are also in a bit of a rut with our discussions, so again something new will give us new fleet ideas, tactics and such to rabbit on about. I am a bit more hands on for Vassal, and I am also aware that theorycrafting had us raving about tractor beams in the pre-game wave 2 but after it came out very few lists had them, and so far in my rather small play group we haven't even seen one. While I feel a bit like Stasy, there are a few cards that look like they be fun to try.
I agree, having played a single game against Ginkapo withy W3 Dodonna the Oppressor list, I am super excited. They are by no means mandatory, but they will add in some cool benefits.
New things are always nice, I just get confused because even IFF who likely plays more games than most of us have not reached critical mass yet.
I'm still trying to figure out if they will be legal or not for the (Canadian) regionals I plan on attending in July. If they are not released soon, it'll be very close!! Hard to build for the tourney not knowing!! ![]()
Wave 3 is exciting because its new and Armada is pushing along. I don't think for a second FFG had a thought of dropping this game, its nice to see them support it with new stuff coming out so fast after telling us its happening. My wife is not excited that I want to spend 1000 on mins and games this year (stupid e3)
I'm also looking forward to wave 3 for two reasons:
We're all talked out!

I've played against each commander and the major fleet archetypes multiple times, and I've tried all the things I want to try. So no, I'm sure I haven't seen anywhere near every possible configuration of upgrades and ships, but I don't think running out and trying Darth Vader with 4 VSDs is going to reinvigorate the game for me.
No, but as I learned running 5 Vics and Motti at a Store Championship, it teaches you invaluable things about Speed and Maneuver, as well as making the best of what you've got...
Hell, Vader and 4 VSDs would actually be fairly effective (as the weakness of the Motti list is a lack of dice manipulation)
Vader and 2 ISD's was a HUGE learning experience. All that Firepower yet you cant just rush in like one would want.

Every Archetype?
What kind of Swarms have you facedmplayed? Any B-Wing use?

Maybe we just take this guy at his word that hes played plenty of armada and is ready for some new stuff.
@Ly: Like Christmas presents under the tree, we know they are there but they are not touchable.
Imagine Little Ly, just 8, running around the house playing "Cowboys and Indians" or what ever the hip 8yo's play these days and there under the tree is all those cool presents wrapped up and right there. 12 days of Christmas... Yeah right... that is 12 days of hell for an 8yo and his pooch. Sure in your head you went, just 12 more days, but that was forever.
I would rather not imagine Little Lyraeus, he had a bad life.
I want new things but, I love how 's could possibly change. I am just skeptical when people say they have tried it all.
It is like reading a series of books. The first time through you get it down but if you take a second time through you pick more up, and so on. This game has so much depth that if the same lists played 5 times in a row, each game would be different every time.
Ya gotta read between the lines, it's not that they have actually tried it all, but they have tried enough and are looking forward to some new stuff.
These are going to be awesome for those of us who love squadrons! A cheap 4th ship to activate that supports squadrons. Nym is going to benefit a lot from these guys.
I'm excited about these too.

As a primarily Imperial player, I'm excited for Gozantis as a means to push the more Squadron-command-hungry Imperial squadrons around. In terms of bomber lists, this will obviously include Rhymer and the TIE Bombers, who had lost favor to Firesprays but now have easier access to on-command Squadrons dials and Bomber Command, which is more cost-effective the more individual bombers you have to make use of it. Unfortunately, this still leaves the Imperial with a Rhymerball solution, which has been around since wave one and may continue to be in the game basically forever because Rhymer is such a good force multiplier (even if he only gives you one extra round of attacking ships with most of your bombers, that's still easily worth the +7 points on one TIE Bomber).
At the very least, having something that's happy to occasionally boss my TIE Fighter squadrons around at a moment's notice when my ISDs/VSDs have better things to do and adding an activation on the cheap is appealing. That last element alone makes them great support (alongside Raiders) for a fleet with heavier slower more expensive ISDs and the like.
The Gozantis also make Tarkin a much more appealing commander as they're quite happy to receive and then make use of those tokens in ways that Raiders really weren't (we tried, we shrugged, we moved on to other things).
And when in doubt, you can always just Comms Net to pass on unwanted tokens to your heavier ships.
That's not even getting into other shenanigans like Slicer Tools use or the two titles or Tagge. I'm very excited to try playing around with the Gozantis.
your on crack Jack if you think imps have a higher need for squadron cmds

TIEs (all of them) are so much better when they're given squadron commands. The fighters want to alpha strike and punch first (because they live by killing opponent squadrons faster than they can be killed back). TIE Bombers want to be able to reposition/chase down enemy ships on crucial turns, but predicting exactly when that will be can be difficult. VSDs/ISDs can't consistently keep acting as carriers without going light on their Navigate/Engineering commands that make them better as battleships. A cheap activation that helps keep those TIEs coming will be amazing in the right fleets.

Plus imperial squads are consistently cheaper meaning there are more of them so they need more total commands to be effective
