60 point Rebel tournament lists

By Errant82, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Hi all,

I am considering entering my first X-Wing tournament, and would like to get your feedback on some lists I am looking at. The tournament requires 60 point squadrons (hell on the Rebels!), with strict restrictions on what I can take. I can't take any unique pilots, or upgrades etc. I need two lists: The first must be from a choice of Z-95 (don't have), X-Wing (own 3), Y-Wing (own 1), YT-1300 (own 1), and HWK-290 (don't have). The second list can use any of the ships from the first list, but must have at least 1 ship from this list: A-Wing (own 2), B-Wing (own 2), E-Wing (own 1), K-Wing (don't have), YT-2400 (don't have), or VCX-100 (don't have).

My lists are as follows:

A Lists:

a) Rookie Pilot - R2 Astromech, Stealth Device
Gold Squadron Pilot - R7 Astromech, Proton Torpedoes, Advanced Proton Torpedoes, Ion Cannon Turret

b) Red Squadron Pilot - R2 Astromech, Proton Torpedoes, Stealth Device

Rookie Pilot - R5 Astromech, Proton Torpedoes, Stealth Device

B Lists:

a) Blue Squadron Pilot - Fire Control System, Autoblaster

Knave Squadron Pilot - R7 Astromech, Flechette Torpedoes

b) Blue Squadron Pilot - Autoblaster, Proton Torpedoes

Blue Squadron Pilot - Autoblaser, Flechette Torpedoes

c) Prototype Pilot - Assault Missiles, Stealth Device

Blue Squadron Pilot - Fire Control System, Autoblaster, Flechette Torpedoes, Proton Torpedoes

Please help me pick an A and a B list. If you could suggest any improvements, I am willing to listen.

Cheers,

I'm no expert at all, but Stealth Device on a AG2 ship seems like a total waste of points.

Also, i don't like torps on a ship with a turret.

Obviously you don't have T70s and Integrated Astro, don't you? That will improve you Xwing survivability.

Maybe RedSq Pilot+r2+Engine Upgrade + IA x2 ??

I'd probably go quantity over quality here with generics.

List 1:

5 Z's would be ideal. Otherwise, maybe just 2 rookies and a gold ywing, naked.

List 2:

Blue Sqd + FCS = 24pts

2x Green Sqd + Refit + Crackshot + Adaptability = 36pts

When using a generic E-wing, pair FCS with R7 Astromech. Gives survivability since you can't Corran-PTL-Regen Mech it up. Blue+HLCx2 isn't a bad option either. Throw FCS on one because you can't fit it on both. It would have some firepower behind it.

Is everyone playing Rebels, or are you facing other factions as well?

EDIT: You can also get a pseudo stress bot with Flechette Torps+Munitions Failsafe. Pair with a TL and reroll your hits to try missing the shot, then add stress. Facing a bunch of generics, stress might not be as useful, but then again, maybe it would be.

Run the A wing build, just do it with 3 instead of 5.

3x Green Squad Pilot: Crack Shot, Adaptability, Awing Test Pilot, Char Refit, Autothrusters

Gives you a bunch of avoid and at least one really good round of hits with Crack Shots. And when you start the game, you can decide what you want to do with Adaptability based on the other players.

I don't have Z-95s, Rebel Aces, or Adaptability. Just what I have posted. If a card doesn't come with one of those packs, I don't have it. ;-) Appreciate the advice so far, guys!

I can't see any better way to do the first list than

2x rookie pilot, 1x gold sq pilot.

At least not with the cards you have.

Ideally I would make either the y-wing or one of the x-wings into a z-95 and get some points for upgrades that way... But you can't drop down to 2 ships and dish out 20 points worth of upgrades between them; that isn't going to work.

For list #2, I'd probably run a blue sq b-wing, a y-wing with an ion cannon turret, and a prototype pilot a-wing. (given what you have access to)

That hits exactly 60 points, and should do well.

I almost feel like upgrade cards are a bit of a trap in this format: Like you're better off ignoring most of the upgrade options and just maximising the amount of dice/health you can bring to the table.

Thanks, that's great advice! I'm still fairly new to the game, so unfortunately limited to what I have (I also lost my job recently, so can't really splurge on other ships). I appreciate the help!

Just double checked, and a Blue Squadron Pilot + Prototype Pilot + Gold Squadron Pilot + Ion Cannon turret is actually 62 points.

Chardaan refit card: reduces the cost of the A-Wing by 2pts. Comes in the Rebel Aces pack.

So used to working with chardaan refit I must have just checked that box without thinking.

You could switch the y-wing out for an x-wing then... Unless I got my maths wrong again that should come out at under 60.

Which I have already said I don't have. ;-)

The list wasn't my suggestion; I merely pointed out how/why the costs worked out.
