"I know a few maneuvers, we'll lose em!"

PartyPotato vs Captain ICT

Good game. Very solid maneuvering on the captains part. Played most wanted. He sniped my most wanted transport at the very beginning ramming it twice then finishing it off the next turn. From there it was a dance to keep the glads out of range of my too slow mc80.

6 to 4 win to Captain ICT. MOV of 62.

84 to 22, I was first player, and objective was Most Wanted.

I did some nice dancing, and when I failed to dance as I wanted, the dice did not favor PartyPotato at all.

Aresius vs Vogons 260-33 / 9-1. Playing Superior Position, i was the second player.

Moodswing5537 vs CaribbeanNinja tonight!

Approximately 7 PM Central US (Midnight GMT)

Postponed due to EH Taylor and having WAY too much fun watching the Miferr/WhatsArmadaWithYou match!

The battle will begin...NOW!

The Battle of the Bourbons is now complete. CaribbeanNinja 580 to Moodswing5537 172 (408 MOV)

I was first player and chose Precision Strike. Slicer tools is no joke y'all. My two slicer Gozantis and six TIE fighters were able to hang around and seriously disrupt Moodswing's Squad game. Demo was able to quickly pop a GR-75 and cripple Yavaris. A huge swing happened when his MC-80 drew a Projector misaligned card. I flipped it 3 times to remove ALL of its shields. A lone double arced Raider was able to APT and ram it to its doom. I'll post the logfile. (We started it early in the game.)

A great game to Moodswing as always! He played very well but luck was definitely on my side.

Matt Antilles defeats doobleg 9-1, tabling me with an mov of 475 to 160!

In short: The objective was Intel Sweep and Matt was first player.

In long: It's been a while since I've had so much fun losing. I expect this has something to do with being so thoroughly outplayed. :D

After setup, Matt charged toward my objective ship with Admontion and, to my surprise, Quantum Storm. Surprise turned to immediate respect when I realised Matt's plan: charge Quantum Storm forward to slicer tools away my Nav dial. Respect turned again to surprise when QS Tractor Beamed the flotilla, and then double-rammed him for good measure. Slowed, bloodied, and floundering, my Gozanti juuust clipped an asteroid, and that was that. Now that Matt had a guaranteed 75 objective points, I'd have to get my points the old fashioned way.

Easier said than done, as my initial maneuvering had left two of my other flotillas staring down the barrel of Scout Frigates. Suppressor just had to survive one front-shot from Lando's Frigate and he'd be through, but wouldn't you know it that Lando managed to roll an accuracy on its single red dice, and the black dice turned the flotilla to so much vapour. Meanwhile, my Firesprays went to town on Admonition, burning shields and defence tokens alike. Matt deployed his A-Wings to ensure Dengar couldn't make all of them heavy, and he began to whittle away with fighters and anti-squadron broadsides.

Lando protected his Frigate from a scathing ISD attack, but his double-arc rebuttal was less than satisfactory, failing to score even a single APT crit. He managed to leap past the ISD to avoid another front-arc spanking, but the previous attack had left him in such a bad state that the side/rear shot (assisted with a CF order) was enough to finish him off. (Yay! I killed something!) Eager to kill more, I charged the ISD forward, trying to run down Mon Mothma and Matt's CR90 objective ship.

Havin' none of that, Matt turned his remaining guns on the ISD. The CR90 burned Imperial shields, and then Admonition leap-frogged Vector (who, after Suppressor's fate and being rammed twice, had been saying his prayers) and came in to deliver the double-arc coup-de-grace, ramming the ISD to secure the kill. Somehow, having been reduced to one hull point from Firespray bombing runs, the Frigate managed to limp away (albeit at top speed) and lived (dammit! :P ).

The CR90 shot and then rammed/killed another Gozanti, and then Quantum Storm, having executed a 270 degree turn, came back to ram Vector to death. That's right: I lost one ship to shooting, three to ramming, and one to a rock (who was weakened due to ramming). :D

I'd like to applaud Matt's creativity in securing the win for this game. It's rare that I'm genuinely surprised in Armada, either by a fleet build or by the strategies employed by my opponent. In this case, I was blindsided by both. With all of the known quantities in this tournament in regards to players we expect to do well, I think Matt Antilles is gonna be the proverbial dark horse. ;)

Also, I really enjoyed this game, and I've no doubt that Matt's opponents going forward will too. :D

(special shout out to Ginkapo - thanks for the commentary, man, you're welcome in my games anytime)

Aresius vs Vogons 260-33 / 9-1. Playing Superior Position, i was the second player.

Been to long since I played Vassal and Aresius was very patient while I tried to remember how to use it. Thank you Aresius

FYI: beefcake4000 vs emfrank72 is happening around the time of the round one deadline.

Given that both players were so prompt in advising me of their scheduling difficulties, and as this match should only come in a few hours after the deadline, I'm going to allow it.

A tip to Rieekan's HaT!

Malluca (Fleet: Vassal Tournament) vs. Darth Veggie (Fleet: Rieekan's HaT): 9-1 victory for Darth Veggie (MOV 300).

Malluca was first player. Objective: Most Wanted.

It was Malluca's first time with Vassal and a pleasant experience to meet him. Thanks again for the game!

Vlog posted soon

What were the points scored for both players? :)

Points scored by both players are: 119 Malluca to 409 Darth Veggie. Sorry, for forgetting that.

As I recognized there was a mistake with the MOV, it is merely 290 in my favour. I corrected the numbers in my original posting as well. The vlog is online now.

Odd, I thought it was 109 to 409, but I didn't save the vlog. Either way.

Thanks to Darth Veggie for walking me through how to use Armada. Darth was (despite his name...) exceedingly patient and helpful to a noob.

I misscalculated initially. It was the MC30 (63) + Upgrades (23) + Luke (20) + X-Wing (13) = 119.

Hi @Doobleg, @Trenchrunner and I played last night. Short story: "Mesa Moodie Bad Guys Are Brexit Winners!"

Stats version: Trenchrunner 105 to Lord Preyer 328.

Story version: the score doesn't do justice to how well Trench played - particularly in the first half. His positioning was good and he knew where the fight would be. I had a hard time trying to reposition for the battle.

We played Opening Salvo. My Demo managed to land half a dozen hits on his Raider but his Raider retaliated with 9 hits (plus ACM!) and an Accuracy! Raider MVP for sure - but my trusty Howlrunner flew in and blew him up with a lucky hit.

Meanwhile my other Glad and Trench's Demo headbutted each other before my Glad broke free and hit his ISD with a double arc from the rear. Finally my Relentless closed on his Relentless for the kill.

Full Jar Jar for the win. But will be glad to get my own Imperials back!

Thanks again for the game Trench!

The game was an absolute blast! I had a great time playing you sir! Raider was MVP....and then Howlrunner took him from me after a poor movement decision. Lord did an amazing job shaking off a roughish start and made me pay for the 9 hit Raider surprise! Well played sir! Look forward to the rematch!

Thanks for the write up doobleg, it was a great game! I had a ton of fun as well. Quantum Storm definitely earned MVP that game. :) I think if your Firesprays had gotten even one more shot on Admo round 2, the game would have gone completely different!

Hehe, if I'd slowed the ISD to speed 1 and turned in to take on Admonition instead of chasing the CR90 it might have been different too. **** MY HUBRIS!!!

We finally got to play our game :) Was a pleasure playing Dorn.

8-2 to me.

I lost my Mc30 and Luke.

Killed ISD 2, Demolisher and all the squadrons. (Jar Jar List)

315 (Me) to 108 (Dorn)

Very close game, Yavaris left on 1 HP, Transport on 2, Salvation on full.
