stacking schematics

By Klort, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

so i found this inconsistency:

in special modifications, you can use 4 advantage or 1 triumph while crafting to do this:

Create a schematic that permanently reduces the difficulty of creating weapons/droid chassis of this template by 1 (to a minimum of Simple (-)).

in keeping the peace, it says for armor crafting:

Create a schematic that permanently reduces the difficulty of checks to create armor of this
template by 1, to a minimum of Simple (-) (this can only be selected once).

emphasis on the phrase thats missing in sm, though i guess thats just an error and should be handled the same (or not?)

what bothers me is that we cant decide whether "this can only be selected once" means once per check, or once, just one schematic ever, one difficulty reduction for checks with this template. option 1 seems like a good balance, though option 2 is also plausible imo, even if its a bit harsh.

They asked this question of the developers on one of the Order 66 podcasts (the one for Special Modifications?). It's a once per check restriction.

wow that was fast, thanks for the info!

That's how I had assumed it was, but nice for confirmation.

Basically it sounds like if you've got a techie you should have him build whatever he can, but things like small expendable items you should send his way whenever possible. Start making pipe bombs now, and schematic it down over time so you're building custom mission and target specific grenades by campaign end....

I suppose, as soon as R&D has brought it down to Simple, the droids in the factory can commence mass production.
