IG-88 Crew (AKA Brobots Mk. II)

So one of the cards they sort-of-spoiled in the Shadow Caster preview was an IG-88 crew card with the same text as the IG-2000 title. We don't know what it costs yet (I'm going to conservatively assume 2, could be less), but I'm already trying to come up with ways to break this. How about this build?

Trade Bossk for Dengar. And I'd be tempted to trade one or both the HLC's for manglers to add some more upgrades. A sensor jammer on IG makes it really slippery.

Anyways, I wouldn't mind Boba Fett getting an evade token after he boosts so I would be looking to do something with that. Eval would benefit the most from B but I would also like to see how A interaction could be abused, potentially with Gonk?

If he's gonna swap Moralo for Dengar, he should probably swap the IG for a different one as well since Dengar can't equip a cannon.

How would a TLT work with B's ability?

I'm guessing it wouldn't. B's effect specifically mentions Cannon upgrade shots, right?

Or do you mean missing with TLT and going for the cannon shot? In that case, I think it works like Gunner: you have to miss both TLT shots.

Probably right about swapping for Dengar. If I run this list in the future, I'll definitely keep that in mind. At the moment I'm just scoping out possibilities (especially since we don't know what the crew costs yet).

Unfortunately IG-88B's ability only triggers once per round. And even if it didn't, there isn't currently a ship with both a turret and a cannon upgrade.

I do like the idea of Fett + IG-88C. Might work with Kath Scarlett as well.

IG-88A seems a lot harder to abuse than B or C, but it might be possible. You'd want something with high damage output and relatively low defense so it can benefit most from the ability; a G1-A, Hound's Tooth, or Uboat seem like good bets. I don't think it'll work in conjunction with Gonk; currently the only scum ship that can take both of them is the tooth, and it doesn't have the best green maneuvers (gonk really wants PTL or EI to be effective). But I could see it being very good on Tel actually. How about this?

Don't swap bossk for Dengar! Swap 4Lom+EU for Zuckuss.

I agree. Why would Dengar be better than Bossk on a Gunner-style ship?? And Zuckuss>4-LOM (+ with Zuckuss you don't care about the stress part of Bossk)

Disagree. in context, Bossk > Dengar - you miss with your HLC, you get TL/Focus, which is way better than just 1 or 2 rerolls.

Ideally you also have K4 to get you rerolls on the first attack if you need them, but Zuckuss is just as good. Zuckuss definitely over 4LOM< too.

Zuckuss = pile of stress = no action

Bossk basically gives you focus & TL for the second attack (+ Zuckuss reroll for defense dices). So you WANT to miss your first shot (with no actions you probably would anyway) to get BIG advantage on the second one.

Swapping 4Lom + EU for Zuckuss isn't a bad idea at all. Only thing is now I'm 5 points short (since IG costs 1 and not 2). Glitter on 88B is a no-brainer, but any ideas on the other 3 points? I was thinking maybe APLs or Ion Projectors on Eval.

This list just accepts the stress. Roll bad on first attack with Moralo? Zuckuss the defender's blank dice to bait the IGB gunner, let Bossk crew say hi, roll again with full modifiers and make Zuckuss reroll the defender like normal. Moralo's arc is more than double a normal arc, 0 + ID to stutter. It's a different beast from IGs.

I have been running a Moralo-88 Variation since the spoilers.

I run a slightly different variation than most, in that i run a VI bot with Moralo, and not the other bot builds that are more common recently.

As far as Moralo goes, you want ig88, Bossk, and zuckuss as crew. I have tried almost every crew variation you could think of, and Bossk/Zuckuss/IG is definitely the route to go on this build.
