"Bree-yark" Where did this come from and what does it mean? No cheating (Googling).
Geeky trivia question of the day.
"Breeeeeeeeeee!"
Exclaimed by an enthusiastic pilot who didn't appreciate the speed flooring it would bring, nor the resulting consequence of such sudden acceleration on someone with a severe case of motion sickness:
"Yark!"
Probably not the right answer but I smiled making it up ![]()
Edit: just Googled it and I couldn't be more wrong
Edited by RhosaarcIsn't that from the Tuskan Raider ? What does it mean? No idea.
It's how people from Staten Island say 'Bjork'.
"I like the new Bjork song."
"Who the $%# is Bree-yark?"
From a Dungeons and Dragons module (Keep on the Borderlands), Bree-yark was goblin for, "I surrender", if I remember correctly... it's been over thirty years.
Or was it Kobold? Now, I am second guessing myself.
Definitely Keep on the Borderlands though. I ran that Dungeon a whole lot of times - it was the standard "intro" to the game, and I introduced a lot of people to the game back then.
DAng!!!!! I just ran my son and his friends through that module last year! It wasn't until I saw the thread again that I suddenly thought of it. Of course, someone already figured it out.
Cool module.
Another. "Shaka when the walls fell" Where did this come from?
Star Trek TNG. That one episode where the guy only spoke in metaphors.
Bummer. I saw Breeyark and thought maybe, just maybe, when the good Lord summoned Noah to build his ark for the beasts and the birds .. he also summoned Barry (the semi-literate guy who loved his cheese) to build an ark to save all the cheeses of the world. Noah was good at building boats. Barry wasn't. Thankfully, the animals survived. But somewhere, on the bottom of the ocean is Barry's broken, aging, useless vessel. A vessel that had more holes in it than his favourite swiss cheese. An Ark full of cheddar, camembert, gouda and brie..
.. the BreeYark.
