Sabine's Special K

By jonboyjon1990, in X-Wing Squad Lists

I want to run 3 K-Wings and a ton of bombs. What do you think is the best list?

Sabine's Special K v1.0

Warden Sq Pilot (33pts)

- Extra Munitions

- Prox Mine

- Prox Mine

- Advanced SLAM

Warden Sq Pilot (33pts)

- Extra Munitions

- Prox Mine

- Prox Mine

- Advanced SLAM

Warden Sq Pilot (34pts)

- Extra Munitions

- Prox Mine

- Seismic Charges

- Advanced SLAM

- Sabine Wren

12 total bombs seem excessive, will I ever get even half on the board? Am I missing some Conner Nets? Could I actually drop the extra munitions and use the 6 points on something else? Like Tactician on each? Or RecSpec/C-3PO?

Sabine's Special K - with Miranda

Warden Sq Pilot (30pts)

- Extra Munitions

- Prox Mine

- Advanced SLAM

Warden Sq Pilot (30pts)

- Extra Munitions

- Prox Mine

- Advanced SLAM

Miranda (40pts)

- Extra Munitions

- Sabine Wren

- Seismic Charges

- Prox Mine

- Advanced SLAM

8 bombs total, seems more realistic and of course Miranda is strictly better than a Warden. But does she missed some defensive upgrades? And does she miss TLT?

I've flown 3 K-Wings a couple of times, with the following build:

Warden Squadron Pilot (K-Wing)

-Conner Net

-Thermal Detonator

-Extra Munitions

-Advanced SLAM

-Sabine Wren

36pts

Warden Squadron Pilot (K-Wing) x2

-Conner Net

-Extra Munitions

-Advanced SLAM

-Bombardier

32pts

I've found that loading up any given K with too many bombs only ensures you won't use them all before it dies, and that Proximity Mines are too prone to dice betrayal - with bombs, it's all about the unavoidable damage. You have to keep the pressure on, though; after landing a Net or two, you need to keep bombing before the target has a chance to recover - i.e. kill it or ion it off the board.
It's a tough list to win with, since your damage is almost entirely down to your positioning (2-dice turrets don't achieve much) and you can lose ships in a heartbeat. But it is a *lot* of fun, and feels like you're practically playing a different game to your opponent.

Yeah that looks good! I suppose guaranteed damage, + sabine + ion + no actions etc is pretty **** useful.
