ACM vs. Admonition

By itzSteve, in Star Wars: Armada Rules Questions

Guys,

I have a GSD that throws 4 black dice: hit hit hit hit. I have Screed as my commander. I remove a die to change one of the hits to hit/crit. The other ship is a mc30 with Admonition. Can the Admonition title remove the hit/crit die when he discards one of his defense tokens?

Yep.

You need to have a Critical after Defense Tokens, in order to activate your Critical Effect.

It does cost him a defense token, which is discarded , rather than just spent... So Green? Discarded. Red? Discarded...

But it can happen at any range of attack, which is the strength of the 8 point Admonition Title.

Which is why you'll often see Admonition limping away from a fight against an ISD with no tokens and some hull damage, but still alive where almost any other ship would have died.

thanks guys! Also, if the hit/crit stays alive for the ACM, and the ship has to take two damage on the defending hull zone that has 1 shield left, does the crit also cause the damage card to go face up besides triggering the ACM?

No.

You get ONE Critical Effect.

That critical effect could be "Your First Damage Card is Face up." (Default)

or

Deal 1 Damage to each Adjacent Hull Zone (ACM)

or

Deal 1 Face up Damage Card Immediately (APT)

Or any other critical effect card.

The point of the matter, is you only get ONE, no matter how many crits are showing.

AND

The "Contain" token ONLY stops the Default. Not any of the others.
