These aren't out yet are they? I can't get hold of any,but I've seen people with them in pictures and streams?
How come I'm seeing people with coloured Bases and Pegs?
Some people have their Imperial Veterans already as well. Guess the Asmodee lockdown for a uniform release date was a bunch of B.S.
Yeah, apparently only some vendors are obeying the street date orders for Imp Vets and the bases. One wonders if the early releasers will suffer any consequences...
Are you positive they are the FFG bases? I know wizkids already made colored bases that are physically compatible with X-Wing models in theory but not legal (to my knowledge)
Some people also paint their bases
I paint mine black with white stars on them.
Been spray painting mine for years. Not sure why I'd pay for a second set. . .
Some have somehow discovered the secret to making bases of a different color.....

These witches must be hunted down and incinerated in the emperor's name.
Like, Translucent paint?
Yup. Just grab a can of Tamiya's translucent spray and go to town.
Vis a vis markers.

Looks surprisingly affordable, actually. Don't know how it would turn out, though.Yup. Just grab a can of Tamiya's translucent spray and go to town.
I favor Testors. Results probably similar. One safety tip is to tape off the part of the peg that actually inserts in the model to prevent sticking.
Some of my favorite named pilots get "personally" colored stands for easy ID on the battlefield--consider it an IFF system, if you will.

This reminds me of an idea I had after a member of our Facebook group posted pictures of the game mat he printed. It was designed like a tactical holo table (grid, and so on).
If you have such a map and them cast your ships (since you allready bought them and it's for private purpose this should be legal) in translucent blue and red colored resin you have a cool looking holo table. Of course them you have to cosplay as imperial of rebell officer as well ^^

Had the very same idea a few weeks ago; nobody else (here) seems to see the greatness of it :-)
Instead of printing it on a map I would go with a 3' x 3' acrylic sheet where I engrave all the grids etc... will look even more like a holo table then :-)
This week, on Legendary First World Problems...
Could they be 3rd party?
90% certain the star trek attack wing bases are a match for ffg's, although as others have mentioned they may not be what you are seeing.....

They aren't exactly the same, and aren't legal for official play. They have slots instead of nubs for the templates.
That holotable idea sounds amazing... but I wouldn't know where to begin to cast things, and probably end up breaking my ships trying.

Um, did that.
